Throughbred Race Horse Training operation in Caloundra, race horse trainer Tony Haydon has a wealth of experience in horse racing having worked with and travelled with the Champions Black Caviar & General Nediym to name a few. Tony started in racing as an apprentice in Queensland, he spent the past 13 years as foreman and Assistant Trainer to Peter Moody at Caulfield.

At the end of the 23/24 racing season we are proud of our little team we didn’t have the depth to compete at the higher level & for most of the season only had about 8 horses in work, proud to finish in the top 100 (74th) on the QLD Country trainers premiership particularly with this strike rate & of our brave horses, of our wins one came from an 8yo mare & 2 others from a horse we purchased as a yearling for just $800, you can only do the best with what you have & place them to their best advantage & we are so proud of them, thanks to our team & all the support crew & patient owners 🙏🏇❤️

Great result at Gympie Turf Club yesterday with a race to race double with our boys Babu King & Hurricane Hall both stepping up to the mark again, big effort from both horses & both ridden right up to instructions by apprentice Corey Sutherland, big thank you to our team Brie Snellaars, Kayla Barker, Lilly McCormack & Garen for all your excellent work at home with our small team 🙏🏇🏇

One of our highlights of the year was definitely the crazy 20 length maiden win by our little dude Hurricane Hall, thank you to all our noble steeds for trying their hearts out for us throughout the year we had our first training trifecta back on Australia Day at Kilcoy & our first race day double at Gympie, thank you to everyone who supported us we are so very grateful. Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year may it be a safe & blessed one 🙏

The final meeting for 2023 & a fantastic result seeing a well deserved win to Day Time Martinis & connections in the QTIS Maiden, thank you to Kelly Gates for the super ride & making every post a winner the mare winning by 3.5L, an excellent effort also to our other runner on the day Babu King who finished 3rd in the BM60 1030m under the excellent guidance of thanks to our loyal owners & our track riders we are so grateful for all you do & of course our small team of horses who are always out there trying their hearts out for us ❤️🏇🙏 📸

Babu King made it 2 wins from 3 starts this preparation getting up by the narrowest margin in the BM55 1170m yesterday, it was apprentice first ride for us & we were very impressed he executed everything to perfection & without doubt his strong riding got the horse over the line in the finish, a big congratulations to connections especially TS Thoroughbreds who have been incredibly loyal & supportive to us & it’s a well deserved win for all involved for their patience with this horse, thank you also to Brie Snellars who rides this guy every day & was excited as any of us after his win yesterday! 📸

Saturday was one of our most successful days for results we went to the races with 4 runners & came home with a double including a quinella & a 3rd, Babu King broke his maiden in great style leading all the way to win by almost 5 lengths over stablemate Day Time Martinis, Massabielle ran 3rd at only her 2nd run after 12 months off racing & Hurricane Hall took out the Spring Cup in class record time by 5 1/2 lengths making it 3 wins from his last 4 starts, incredibly proud of the horses & Gabby for executing all rides to perfection, a big thanks to Paul for helping us out on a very hectic day & to our track riders with special mention to Brie who has done great job especially with Babu King who she has formed a great bond with. 🏇🏇🏇🏇 🍗

Wonderful result Saturday with Hurricane Hall a strong winner under Gabrielle Semmens, not the crazy margin of last start but a big effort all the same, we were concerned after drawing barrier 1 as we thought it would work against him & up in weight & grade but he was able to lead, not his normal racing pattern, & still managed to kick away & win by 2.8L, Gab said he didn’t really handle it but dug deep, so proud of him & everyone that’s helped us along the way with him, also thank you to Paul who came out & gave us a hand in the earlier races it was so appreciated 🙌🙏🏇 Photos courtesy of

It took until his eighth career start but Gympie galloper Hurricane Hall broke his maiden status in utterly ridiculous fashion at his home track on Saturday.

Well that was a day to remember! Our $800 online yearling purchase won his maiden at start number 8 by an astonishing 20.3 lengths yesterday, it was beyond special being Gabby’s first ride for us as an apprentice after having worked for our team for many years, her mum Sue was also there to share the moment Sue has also helped us out in the stables over the years, 2nd in the race was Bailey Boo trained & owned by wonderful friends & who have also been wonderful to us, just a very special day, thank you to Brie Snellars for the work you put in at trackwork for us, and of course “Hurricane” the cheeky little monkey who at 4 years old might finally be starting to get what it’s about 😂😂🏇🏇Photos courtesy of
