Looking forward to seeing everyone next weekend for some horsey fun! 😁🙌🦄
As always Melbourne can give us all types of weather and being on the coast we get 4 seasons in one day so please come prepared!
If you haven’t contacted me and would like to come and spend sometime with your horse and friends then just drop me a DM and I’ll share the details.
It’s not the mountain we conquer but ourselves. ~ Sir Edmund Hillary
Last weekend I went on my second big over night hike, well big for a beginner! The distance would be shorter, I would be carrying more and the terrain unknown to me.
It was my first Summit experience, Mt Buller to Stirling, 10km up and 9km back ✅
Hiking up and down mountains carrying a pack is certainly an experience. It gives you time to think, contemplate and learn about yourself.
And you sweat like crazy 🤪
There were 3 key messages that stood out to me on this hike.
Just how much we ask our horses to do. How much they carry and keep putting in. The toll that can take on the horses body if you don’t read the situation and are aware of the physical, mental and emotional limits of the horse. But how you can play and build on these so they expand in a beneficial way for the horse.
At first I thought that walking up hill was hard. And it was. But the longer you walk, the harder going down steep hills is. Your body has to brace and balance not only you but the weight carried on the back. Going down requires far more concentrating on where the feet are placed and balance! Where going up hill just required grit, determination and mind over matter.
I will remeber this when riding and always look to build on the mental, emotional and physical aspects of my horses.
I can also now look at the mountain and l know I can make it up there…well this time 🤣
My first hike I just looked down as the climb in front of me was challenging to my body and mental toughness.
I leant that there is no quitting.
You just can’t quit when you’re hiking because you can either turn back and face the path you’ve hiked or go forward.
There’s no jumping off the gym machine and quitting. You have to walk. This is what I found builds the mental toughness and grit as every way you turn requires more walking 🤪
When your body is hurting, every inch of you is sweating and you h
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ISABELLE🥕🎉❤️
I can’t believe a year has past.
Seeing her born was amazing and the bond she has with me feels so different.
She was full of surprises with her colour changing so quickly from chestnut to roan in such a short space of time. And she did eventually trot rather than canter everywhere.
Looking forward to the journey together as she grows. 💕
Happy 1st Birthday 🥕

Today Winter ventured around the playground....having a little munch was well!
He’s an interesting character, curious, opinionated and his emotions are never hidden! 🤪
Let’s say life won’t be dull with him around, just as it wasn’t the day he was born!❤️
Ready to ride!
Well after a rather long break from teaching horsemanship....I’m back🎉
As many of you know I have a Parelli background and was a licensed 2* instructor for over 12yrs. Over my break I have continued to study and attend clinics with Rachel Clarkson from Horsemanship Australia with my personal horse. I have been busy being a new foal mum too 😂... gosh they’re adorable!
I have also thoroughly enjoyed completing Karen Rohlf’s Finding the Sweet Spot of Healthy Biomechanics & the Upward Spiral of Successful Gymnastics courses. Both blending the natural horsemanship world & dressage to build a happy, athletic & trusting partnership with your horse.
If you’re looking for support on your natural horsemanship journey or just starting out then drop me a message and we can chat further to book a lesson with you and your horse.
There are a number of days that I will be travelling to clients but will also be holding lessons at my property in Jam Jerrup.
What a magic 10days away with Cricket 💕
Time away with Cricket was amazing this year. We played, rode and learnt together. Stretching the boundaries along side others.
We had some great liberty moments, better finesse, laterals and flying changes this year and even survived the x-country 😂 ~ thanks Rachel Clarkson
It was like being in another world.
Wifi and phone reception was virtually non existent, so sorry for not replying to those that messaged me!
But spending time with 8 amazing people passionate about learning was good for the soul.
