I have had a number of enquires asking if I’m still working in Karratha. YES I’m am.

This is how I work - for those who don’t know.

I am a 1 vet practice. I am predominantly at the clinic with Tues being mobile day.
Wednesday is surgery day.

Kristy is my right hand covering messages, invoices, debt collecting, orders and everything I need. She works Tuesday to Thursday from 8.30-3ish.

As I am often by myself I can’t answer the phone when in consult - please text me. I’ll get back to you.

I have a son at home and 3 other children. I am a grandmother and have a life outside work as well as my horses - who I travel with to compete in Perth.

We do our best to accomodate each and every one of you, but we are human and sometimes miss a message or call. Please message/call us again. Text or Facebook message is best as we can see it.

Most of all Before being harsh please remember we are not a large company with multiple vets and support staff.

AND we love what we do and we do care 😊

I am back at work on Monday. I had the most amazing experience in Texas at the World Ranch Sorting Championships and Wyoming visiting the lady who loaned me the wonderful horse I rode. Wow ❤️❤️❤️❤️

That time is fast approaching for our next visit from My Equine Dentist (Andy and Lisa Wearing). These guys offer a professional equine dental service and my horses would not be in the condition they are and perform the way they do, keep condition while travelling the km’s we travel, without ongoing dental care.

I have been using these guys for over 20 years. Why do I not do my own horses teeth you may ask …. I am a Vet after all 🤷‍♀️. Well just because I have the qualification which allows me to do equine dentistry doesn’t mean I’m proficient at it. Best to let the experts do it I say 👍

Yesterday was a very sad day for me …. I refused to see and treat a horse (injury was not life threatening) because I was verbally abused and called some quite offensive stuff prior to leaving the clinic.

In a way I’m very proud of me because I stuck up for myself and refused to be treated so disrespectfully. However I’m very sad that that behaviour must work for this abusive man. I feel sad for those who get treated like that and are dominated by such people.

Vets are people, we like anyone deserve to be in a safe space, we do not have to treat your animal if we are threatened, abused, or feel unsafe.

To the horse owner - Please when you plaster all over Facebook about the Vet refusing to attend you may want to add the reason why.

The Clinic will be unattended from Wed 27th March until 1st may.

I will be leaving for the last WA comp on Wednesday morning. Then leaving from Perth 4 days later to head to Dubbo in NSW.

If there is Food, Prescriptions, or anything else you need to get you through that period, please let us know NOW. If i don't have the stock it will need to be ordered to be able to be picked up Before Tuesday.

What Lisa has been up to this past year with the time away? Well...
I’m Lisa Pearce, a passionate veterinarian serving the Pilbara for the past 12 years, with 25 years of experience in the veterinary industry as a whole. My love for animals extends beyond the clinic, I also compete in ranch sorting. I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be representing the Pilbara spirit at two prestigious events this year:
April 19th, 2024: National Ranch Sorting Championships in Dubbo, NSW.
June 13th, 2024: International Ranch Sorting Championships in Fort Worth, Texas, USA.
Competing isn't just about personal achievement; it's about showcasing the Pilbara's spirit and inspiring women of all ages, especially in regional areas, to pursue their passions in sport and beyond.

Why Spey your bitch? I think people think that vets say to do it to generate income 🤔. Well it has never so obvious that this is not true as the last few weeks. I have had to do emergency surgery to save multiple dogs due to having a serious uterine infection. Very large uterus, 4-6 weeks after a cycle, full of pus!!

If she (or he/ testicles) is not going to use it they are better off without it 🤷‍♀️. The older they get the greater the risk of many problems related to not being desexed.

Ask if you want to chat about it 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Had a super little helper today while I helped his friend. ❤️

And another old and very happy patient ....... meet Nev he hurt his leg real bad ..... and is now as good as gold.

Question: What do you do if your 14 1/2 year old dog has a HUGE muscle tumour on her hind leg ?........ Chop the sucker off !!!! Look at this AMAZING girl, she is going ahead in leaps and bounds and is years younger. We hope to improve her quality of life for as long as she has left. Madison you are my hero!!!!!
