"Kiki" came to the shelter at about 3mths of age. Undersocialied and very timid. This is one of the games she loved once she gained her confidence. Kiki is now in a loving home, living her best life.

This is one of the fun things I like to do with shelter dogs. It's called "nose-work". My aim is to remind these stressed out pooches how to be dogs again by helping them to use their noses

A great form of exercise for an arthritic dog is a nice paddle in the water. The water supports his weight and he can strengthen his "walking" muscles. And a perfect way too cool down on a hot afternoon

Just a Bit About Me

I started out Vet Nursing, working in various clinics with a variety of animals. Ranging from dogs and cats to horses, rabbits and reptiles. I realised that a lot of people were having difficulties with the behaviour of their animals...particularly dogs, and the occasional cat. I was always very keen to offer them a solution to the problem. As I delved more into the behaviour of animals I found that it fascinated me and I attended as many seminars and training courses as I could to learn more. I eventually enrolled in a 3 year behaviour and training course and started up some Puppy Preschool classes, adult classes and the occasional home visit. In the last few years I have been working at animal shelters, my main roles being to temperament assess the dogs and cats and when needed to put them through a training program to help them in their new homes.

I feel this has given me a great head start to helping people to get the best out of their dogs. I am offering training programs for dogs with issues ranging from basic good manners to hyper aroused, reactive dogs.
