We were thrilled to be invited by Aaron and Nicole at Pathfinders to check out the last 3 available females out of our girl Vonrook Fortune aka Mayko and Vencedor Archillies yesterday.
They are some really nice medium drive girls!
I really enjoyed playing with the pups individually yesterday, and I can see their distinct personalities.
The smallest one is Pathfinder Danica. A sweet natured pup. Not overly drivey at this stage but it can came out later. A little cautious initially but she comes around fast. She’ll make a lovely family pet.
Puppy two the middle size girl is a bit in the middle. Happy go lucky. Nice and stable and confident. She’ll make a nice family dog. Calm and little aloof. Not super drivey but enjoys the play and will train well. Her name is Pathfinders Danae.
Last but not least. Pathfinders Danigah. The big girl with the thick muzzle and super engaged is my favourite. I wanted to pick her up and put her in the car. She was a natural. Retrieving. Picking stuff up in her mouth. Engaging stares waiting for the next fun thing…. She’ll make someone a really nice training partner. Someone’s new best friend. She wants to do stuff with out being super demanding or pushy. She was nice and confident but still that medium drive demeanour not frantic just a clear and easy going nature. Drive can always come out later and in a dog like this can be built. Her nature is to please and engage.

We are incorporating the slat mill into our training and exercise for our dogs to keep them fit, fulfilled and super healthy! We chose a Chase-Pro slat mill and Jetta took to it like a duck to water.
The flirt pole fluffy think won’t last long though. Looks a lot like a rabbit for that super prey sequence initiative to get her moving….

Vonrook Matilda Seasonal Creeks.
Vonrook Matilda aka Tilly is having a blast just being a dog in the seasonal creeks that run on our property at this time of year.
Tilly has done lots of training and early socialisation which has really paid off. She’s really good with engagement and checking in with me and she’s great with recall.
There’s too much mischief to get into and I don’t want her to think recall is a choice so she’ll stay on a long line…
We have been very adamant that Tilly will need an experienced and knowledgeable home where she’ll be worked. She needs that. She deserves that. Her genetics and drives will make her very difficult to live with without an appropriate outlet for her drives.
Just when we’d accepted that knowledgeable home would be with us and she’d do sport a more appropriate home more in alignment with the security lines she’s from presented. As much as I am attached to her the right thing for her is to be developed and working and to hopefully go on to produce offspring to ensure these old working lines continue in the hands that know and understand them best.
We still have her a little longer so I won’t say more just yet but for the next few days Tilly will enjoy puppy life and get to be a dog. Enjoy her enthusiasm and joy for life as she explores the water ways. 😍🙏🤩🐺 💦 ❤️

16 weeks old… having a blast working with this super cool pup. Imprinting the “fuss” and working on retrievals. I know someone who won’t have an outing problem…
I’m doing the fast reps so she builds the muscle memory and spits that ball out cause the next one is coming in hot 🔥
We’ll see how that plan works out once she gets possessive 🤣🤣🤣
Tilly has not found the perfect home yet… we are super picky in placing her. She wants and needs to work. She needs a home where she will continue her education and socialisation. She needs an outlet for all that drive. We want her to reach the full potential of her genetics.
Happy to wait. Happy to keep showcasing her till that right fit comes forward.

14 weeks old. Up on the table which is a challenge in itself…
We are imprinting the sit drop stand early to build muscle memory… This is a foundation for a sport dog. I’m not great at it but eventually Tilly will be stable, require no cues, food or lures and have that really nice levering back into platz and not move her front feet whilst she cycles in and out of positions….
It all starts here and now…
