We have been trying out the fabulous Fruit of the Groomer TM shampoos and conditioners. After using the gratefruit, Puffin’s coat was light and silky with a lovely smell. Fruit of the groomer uses different fruit extracts to achieve the best results for different hair lengths. $18 but worth it.

I am really not surprised by this article. So If you’re thinking about surrendering a pet because of the cost of maintenance I recommend you come and see us first about ways to reduce your grooming costs and remember it takes about 10 mins a day to brush the coat and 20 minutes walk and again play. But if you do this it’s a bonding experience and a happy dog.

Animal rescue organisations say they are struggling to cope amid a surge in pet surrenders, with RSPCA ACT saying they are seeing a 30 to 40 per cent increase from last year.

Look at how a de-shed transforms Gus’s coat. 😍When our double coated dogs lived outside we would suggest getting this done at the end of winter but now our dogs are enjoying climate controlled households there’s no need for them to build an undercoat for warmth. This means the shed all year round 😕 Ideally a deshed every 4 weeks will keep the hair under control in your house and your dog will love it also. This is not your fault!!
The picture above shows a dog that came in after winter and had to be shaved off with great care which can be quite traumatic for the dog and an expensive exercise. Many dog owners don't realise the importance of regular grooming even during the cold weather.
A dog doesn't need a full groom as long as they get at least a bath and tidy every 6 to 8 weeks. Our groomers can help you work out a schedule that suits you to avoid expensive grooming.
