Well thats a wrap!after 25 years as a vet nurse in both tcompanion animal where I started at Dromana vet clinic with Andrew Trezise , Peter Clancy Clancy and Mark lethlean then moving into equine nursing with Robyn Charman at South eastern equine where I spent 19 years learning more about equine medicine ••••it’s time to hang up my scrubs . I have seen many changes over those years some good and some not , dealing with some clients who aren’t understanding of the demands in the veterinary world causing trauma and loss of life’s to firiends within this industry . The patients big and small I have assisted with skills learnt is why we stay in this industry the friends we make the teams we work with . I have new challenges ahead. I will continue work within the industry teaching students completing their cert 111 equine studies and my business debs equestrian as dressage coach. Looking forward to 2024 😊

Sharing for a friend 😊Short term - casual - part time position with immediate start available in a private premises with event horses in Drouin South.
(3-4 months approx it won’t be shorter but may be longer).

We are looking for someone who is an experienced rider (intermediate upwards) to help out a few days a week with rugs, feeding, hay, water & riding/schooling/maintaining fitness of my 3 eventers. The days and hours to be discussed at interview and can be somewhat flexible.

What we are looking for is an experienced confident, flexible person who is happy to work independently with my 3 event horses while I am incapacitated having had an ankle reconstruction surgery.

Ideally you will be able to ride to high level 2 or level 1 PCVA or HRCAV, EA Novice or above in Dressage, confident to jump up to 1 meter and be happy to trail ride occasionally with my husband.
An advantage if you are an experienced event rider or show jumper.

You must :
*Have current EA or HRCAV membership.
*Own transport (there is no accommodation).
*You must be 100% reliable & honest.
*Be prepared to work in all weather conditions
*Be someone who will love my boys like they are their own.
*Ride with an independent seat & have soft hands.
*Happy to ride:
A big (17hh) young warmblood who can be a bit knappy & occasionally have a spook.
A quirky sharp, athletic, compact 16.1hh WBxTB.
A very polite, but sensitive 16hh WBxTB who is solid & compact & can be a bit strong & excitable when jumping.
None of them have any dirt but they do have personality and are currently competition fit but have not worked for a couple of weeks.
*Like dogs 🐶 we have 3 crazies !

My boys would love to have someone who can be firm but fair so they know their boundaries but still get the love they deserve, while I am out of action.

This is a paid position & remuneration will be discussed at interview and based on age & experience. Own ABN welcome.

A bit about us & our facilities:
My husband & I live for our animals & have a cute small (13.5acre) property in Drouin South.
I enjoy Eventing but do occasionally adventure out to do some dressage or showjumping.
My husband mainly focuses on dressage but has been known to try his hand at low level eventing too.
We are so lucky to have good facilities with:
A 25x60 sand/rubber arena. Quad bike & greystone arena rake with pro blade to maintain the arena surface.
A good set of showjumps
3 crossties with wash off bay
5 stables
A 6 horse dry walker
All horses in individual paddocks with good safe fencing.
