The end of a era.
53 years milking the beloved Sunshine Farm Jerseys finished this morning. I only hope the girls do us proud in there new homes. A long trip ahead for you lot today. KYOGLE Northern NSW Will be a pleasure to go and check them out next time I am in that area

𝑾𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒊𝒏 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒄𝒌!

We were thrilled with the response to the much anticipated IDW 2023 Heifer Raffle - with all 200 tickets sold in advance of drawing the winner.

While the glitch in the spinning wheel added to the drama, it was definitely smiles all round for Dylan Morris and Gabbie Mahoney, when it was announced Dylan was the winner of the draw!

"I was very shocked when my name was drawn out. My partner and I only purchased the tickets the night before, so it was very exciting" says Dylan.

Dylan picked the Holstein option of Westmuir Chief Jacobina 9770 - a Chief daughter of the incredibly well known 2020 IDW Supreme Champion Cow - Avonlea Reginald Jacobonia EX91.

"It was a very hard decision between the Holstein and the Jersey, especially considering that we are Jersey breeders." he said.

"It came down to the fact that my partner and myself wanted to expand our business into another breed and the heifer was out of a cow we both admired and a pedigree that we wanted to work with." said Dylan.

"My advice is to definitely buy tickets - you got to be in it to win it. Especially for young breeders, it’s a fantastic way to get into some of the breeds best pedigrees." says Dylan.

Taking arrival of their new addition on the Saturday following IDW, she has been settling in nicely, while Dylan prepares to give her a run at a local show in the lead up to the Victorian Winter Fair.

Had a great day at Rochester annual show today.
Moonpah Clusto Dawn won. Her class then took out
Intermediate Jersey. And the
Intermediate champion all breeds.
Very special day for me.
