Three years ago today🥰❤️❤️.

Our beautiful Bobby❤️😍😍❤️……the biggest, bestest boy who fills my heart with love. With his ‘what about me….look at me’ interactions; his ‘yep, you can scratch me here’; his ‘I think the world is ending’ if he spots something different in his environment; and his ‘I’ll stare at you until you give me some attention’ with clients🤣🤣🤣.

I’m still blown away that he, as a super young horse, lived in a stable for two months (to recover from surgery) and didn’t get grumpy once.

Our beautiful, beautiful boy. Ohhh how we love you❤️❤️❤️.

And it turns out he wasn’t the last edition to the herd (like I thought he’d be!!)🤣🫣❤️❤️.

How blessed we are to share this amazing space with our wonderful clients. A perfect place to find a moment of peace, allow our nervous systems to reset and take a moment to breathe and just ‘be’….

Three years ago today❤️!! Happy Coming Home Day, Archie.

It’s hard to believe that our curious, into-everything, funny, super sensitive boy arrived at The Horse’s Heartbeat three years ago.

Loved beyond measure❤️❤️. We’re blessed to have him in our herd.

Clients coming to The Horse’s Heartbeat today are in for a special treat😍🐴❤️🎉👏.

We have beautiful, sensitive Bonnie joining us today, helping out in our Equine Assisted sessions.

Most of our clients know Bonnie from over the fence but today we have her adding some of her own precious character on this side as she spends the day with Jasper and the rest of The Horse’s Heartbeat herd❤️❤️.

Jasper is our precious oldie around here so he gets his teeth checked every six months to make sure all is well.

This day four years ago, Zac came to be part of The Horse’s Heartbeat🐴❤️.

When we moved to this property just over four years ago, Gypsy came along with it. The real estate agent casually said ‘By the way, do you want a pony?’. The owners said ‘We’re just going to put her on Gum Tree’. My insides screamed and I quietly said ‘No, don’t do that. I’ll look after her.’

So when we moved here, Gypsy was already here but….she was alone.

Horses are herd animals. They need friends. And so, we had barely moved in, we hadn’t unpacked more than the absolute necessities, we weren’t settled…..and I already had a little friend pulling into the gate, arriving for Gypsy❤️🐴🐴❤️.

Yep, horses need friends….and these two have become the very best of buddies. Such precious, precious members of The Horse’s Heartbeat team❤️❤️.

Horses can’t vocalise their pain, discomfort, stress, anxiety, distress or fear. If they were able to vocalise in the way dogs can, perhaps humans would stop inflicting on horses the things that would cause them to cry, yelp, scream, whimper or howl, if they only could….just maybe😔😢.

How very blessed I am to be able to work with our amazing clients, beautiful horses AND an incredible team of people.

These are the The Horse’s Heartbeat crew who help keep all the animals happy and healthy, the animal spaces clean and our Equine Assisted sessions running smoothly.

We definitely couldn’t do what we do without their dedication and hard work🙏🏼….and we try and have some fun along the way!!😊🐴

ANOTHER UPDATE😊: Thank you to everyone who nominated themselves or someone else for our free Equine Assisted session.

The response was greater than we imagined. The most difficult part of offering something like this is trying your select just one person….. We couldn’t. So we’re offering two free sessions this round and the recipients have been notified.

It highlighted for us once again that the need is great so we’ll be offering a free Equine Assisted session again in a month or two.

For those who nominated this time, THANK YOU. If you missed out, please feel free to nominate again next time.

In the meantime, be kind to each other. The world needs more kindness, compassion and care. We just never know what someone else may be going through.

Not the horses’ favourite day of the year but important for keeping them them all happy and healthy.

Dental floats (filing the sharp bits off their teeth) and vaccinations done for everyone✅.

As always, thank you to Western Equine Veterinary Services for taking such good care of our herd. You guys are wonderful and sooo appreciated💕🐴.

Annie has been with us for about nine years and deserves her own little bit of the spotlight. Her full name is Annie Havachat Meow😝❤️.

Horses are endlessly fascinating😍🥰!!

Watching this interaction between Bobby and Denny makes my heart sing❤️. It is a connection between friends, a social moment and a moment of learning and teaching. As an added benefit, research shows that ‘mutual grooming is also associated with reduced heart rate suggesting a role in reducing anxiety’ (Feh and de Mazieres, 1993).

We try our best to make sure The Horse’s Heartbeat herd are happy, healthy and have the opportunity for natural horse behaviours and interactions….like this one🐴🥰.

Meeting the horses’ needs means they can then support our clients with nervous system regulation and reductions in anxiety…..in often surprising, profound and long-lasting ways.
