This has been my view for the last month. Training some quality horses for their owners.

They are up to the stage where they can be ridden out in order to gain experience and become useful farm horses.

With the dry weather there are constant water and stock checks to be done. Which gives us a great reason to get out and about.

🐑🐑𝑰𝙩'𝙨 𝙡𝒂𝙢𝒃𝙞𝒏𝙜 𝙨𝒆𝙖𝒔𝙤𝒏! 🐎🐎
Our first lambs have started coming and with the current heat it's important to inspect the flock multiple times a day to check the ewes for distress or complications and for any abandoned lambs. It doesn't take long for the heat to take them if they are no longer receiving care from their mother and sometimes, like this little fella, they do need rescuing. We like to utilise these types of opportuniies to use culture to help progress our horses. Whether they are heading out of the arena for the first time, they are a seasoned duty horse or a new trail horse learning the ropes, the trip out to the flock and back can be employed to progress their training, create confidence with a simple job or a stretch out/cool off after a good session in the arena while performing a second job that needed to be done anyway. Two birds, one stone as it were. Do you use culture to build your horse?

Heading out on a mission today with the work horses.

Good horses and good gear!

The mission is to catch some horses that can’t be caught so far. In a large open space with no facilities.

Ended up well - horses caught - and float loaded. Working horses improve every mission.

And we always learn more in the process.
