I have volunteered with the following organisations:
Lord Somers Camp & Power House; Lady Somers Camp, Camp Diversity and emPOWERme. I first began babysitting - as many do - during my teens, and I have worked with many families of diverse backgrounds and needs ever since. After completing high school, I began studying to become a Primary School Teacher. This gave me the opportunity to work within school environments, enrich my pedagogical development, and ultimately form the foundations of the skills set I proudly carry into my work every day. Upon deferring from my studies, I was incredibly fortunate in being offered a role as a Personal Care Assistant, and began work supporting adults and children living with disabilities, in their own homes, within specialist schools, and community based programs. I encourage kids to play outdoors as much as possible, explore their own creativity through arts and craft projects, and love getting them involved around the house - particularly in the kitchen. I'm happy to assist them with reading, maths and after school activities. As an "animal person", I'm more than happy to help out with pet care, and always try to foster respect for all animals - and of course for other people!
