❄️ Winter is here! ❄️

The Ugg boots are out and the fire is lit 🔥

Just remember your horse/pony is exactly that- and not a human standing out in the paddock all night.

I’m A firm believer in letting them feel the seasons, they are there for a reason and help to regulate their systems. Growing longer coats, possibly losing a bit of weight, mares stop cycling, it is all meant to happen.

Winter is your chance to prepare for Spring.

Anyone who owns ponies will know how problematic Spring can be.

These particular ponies are getting older and I’m looking out for them with rugs on the cold nights- but the first chance I get they are taken off and enjoying a roll in the sunshine 🥰

Note: I’m not saying not to rug ever, there’s many reasons/circumstances where they are needed and beneficial, I’m just suggesting to think about how often/heavily the horses are rugged and do they really need it or does it just make you feel better?

Yesterday we ran a junior trail ride, a great opportunity for the children to enjoy an hour long ride in the bush without the worry of controlling the horse.
Geoff and I got our steps up, saw some local wildlife and Cooper the new guy took
It all in his stride. 🙂

On Wednesday we have seen a huge improvement, trotting with no stirrups, and getting those quick release knots tied up.

Saturday Morning Lessons saw some students try jumping for the first time and they did an AMAZING job.

Congratulations to Miss M for completing her level 1

We had riders who have not wanted to come off the lead before, happily riding around on their own, confidence is growing each week.
