Meet Poppy!! Hes looking for his forever home!! Please message us if youd like more info about him!! Have a lovely day!!
We don't understand why Fifi has not been adopted yet? Shes just beautiful and the perfect cat.
She would be great with a single person, a couple, or a family and she's great with other cats too!
Shes a talker and will actually hold conversations with you. She's not annoying though, she will only meow if you encourage her too and talk to her, and she will then answer you!! She is around 8-10 years old the vet thinks.
She was found on the street in a terrible condition and most likely would of died had she not come into our care. Cut to 6 mths later and shes put on weight and is just a picture of health now.
She loves a good old lie on the lounge with her humans, but also finds time each day to show her playful side.
I love to see ex street cats play with toys and finally let their guards down. No time for playing when youre an adult living on the street.....
Shes adapted so well to being indoors.....in fact she never attempts to go out doors or windows......she knows its better inside!!
It saddens me how the older cats always miss out. Please consider being a special person and adopting an older cat. Kittens will always find homes - but the older cats, not so much. They will return your Love 10 times over - i can promise you that!!
Please come and meet her!
Shes desexed, microchipped, vet checked, flead and wormed and is $150 to adopt.
Please share for her as well.
Please message us if you'd like more info about our adoption process or Fifi.
Thank you!!
Beautiful Fifi (aka Bowie as she has one blue and one green eye like David Bowie) is still looking for her forever home!! Dont be fooled by the video!! Yes she has her little bursts of energy throughout the day - where she uses the scratching poles or chases imaginary things around (lol one of my cats does that too) - but mostly she is very calm and likes to curl up on your lap or on the lounge. I will post a pic in the comments as you cant post a pic and video at the same time. She was found on the street in Hamilton but it was quite obvious she had been owned before as she was so sweet once at the vets. She is a talker and will hold conversations with you. Shes being fostered at a house that has another three cats thats not huge in space, and she hasnt been too bad living with them, but i think she would do better with more space or less animals. Ie if the space was small thats fine, but maybe no other animals ...... and if the space was larger i think she would be fine with another cat or even two cats, as long as the introduction is done slowly (like it always should be anyway!!) could you be Fifis lucky new owner? If you would like more info on Fifi or would like to meet her, please message us. She is $150 and has been desexed, vet checked, microchipped, flead and wormed and she has also had a full dental!! Thank you and please share for Fifi it really does help get our posts out there amongst more eyes.
This is little Myles, caught at the Stockton breakwall recently. Hes been desexed, microchipped, vet checked, flead and wormed and is ready for adoption and to find his forever home. He is so friendly and very sweet towards humans and loves his pats and toys. Youve done such a great job fostering him Kellie!! If hes this friendly after two weeks imagine what hes going to be like in a month!! He will be such a snuggle buddy!! Such a handsome little man who is around 6 mths old. He gets along well with other cats :) If you are interested in adopting Myles or any of our cats and kittens needing homes, please send us a message, we would love to hear from you!! Cheers from Rochelle xo
I am a feeder at our Jesmond Colony.
I want to tell you about Cleo. A little delicate tabby cat who has lived a difficult life on the streets of Jesmond these past four years.
The feeders noticed that she was not looking good. Fragile and underweight with a skin condition. Her and I had a bit of a connection, and she would allow me to gently pat her. Eventually I started to clean her skin lesions.
I caught her four weeks ago and took her home. My husband was not too ecstatic about this, but his big heart allowed me to take care of her.
She went to the vet- a good patient she was. It was discovered she had anaemia and a growth in her mouth. Some antibiotics and medication and within a week she was eating like a lioness. She loved egg yolks and nutripet soup. She was clean and tidy and used her kitty litter.
I often massaged her fragile body, her paws, under her neck and her ears. I cleaned her skin and put music on for her to relax to. She purred and licked my hand in gratitude. We would sit together on the lounge and she even watched TV with such curiosity.
I was just in awe of her progress and loving nature. My husband said she is not going back there, is she? Maybe we should keep her. She had enchanted him too.
About five days ago she was struck with a cold. Diarrhoea followed. She was not eating much but drinking so I though ok she is just feeling like us humans do with a virus.
The Stray Cats Project returned her to the vet. A diagnosis could not be made without further tests, so we booked her in for Tuesday next week.
She was eating a little more a couple of days later so I was still confident she would make it.
Last night I put the little princess to bed. She had some fresh beef and a sip of water.
During the night my sleep was disrupted by a dream. It was about me trying to save yet another cat. But in my heart, I knew Cleo had started her journey on the rainbow bridge.
I went downstairs to find her peacefully lying on the floor. She looked relaxed. Her li
Just a video from one of our colonies showing how different colony cats act to outdoor bored pet cats. They are just not interested in the wildlife. At this spot theres a huge flock of corellas most afternoons, plovers that often have chicks, crows and their offsprings (as in video), pee wees, ive even seen blue tongues eating their food but the cats are just not interested in attacking them. The only time ive ever seen an animal hunted while at this spot, was one night a pet cat with a collar and bell ran past me with a live baby rabbit in its mouth. (theres quite a few rabbits along the harbour front and surrounding grassy parks that you see at night there). Colony cats are not stupid. They are living on the edge out there!! Why would they bother using a lot of calories chasing a bird or similar around for one mouthful of feathers and a lot of effort, when the human is coming at 7 with their food?? The answer is - they dont!! They just all seem to learn to get along out there. Same as at the breakwall where the cats live and exist with the rakali water rats. Its the humans hurting the rakalis and bird on the breakwall. Human left fishing line is the number one killer and maimer of wildlife there, not the cats. Please keep your pet cats contained inside, or behind fences or enclosures. The only time we believe a cat should be outside is if its a stray. If its owned it should be inside for the sake of our wildlife, along with the safety of the cat. Have a great day everyone!!
Our beautiful Pebbles is about 3weeks old and is learning the art of grooming ๐โค๏ธ
