What a wonderful husband she has!
After three knee reconstructions and then a total knee replacement Mel hasn't ridden for at least eight years but she started again this week after her wonderful rider, Sarah Rohr, decided to follow her heart to the US. This is only her second ride ever on her horse "Syd" ("Glitterati"). I am so pleased for her as it was always her passion to ride and compete and its not the same unless you do it yourself. Go Mel!
A short clip of "Regal" and her new beautiful filly.
WARNING. Old man's white legs on display - but at least they are both straight! Back at work tomorrow. Give me a call. S
A quick update video. Lots of friends have asked why I have been quiet on FB. Nothing to report really except good progress!
For those who haven"t seen me for a while, this is a video of me walking a day or so BEFORE my surgery. The "bow" in my right knee is pretty impressive and my degree of lameness is not much different to what it is now only a week after surgery.
Went out tonight for a great steak with Mel and ran into Steph Chenery and her family. I was showing off at how great I was going only 7 days postop so I thought I would post a video to update everyone. I am over the moon with my progress to say the least!
Going really well. I can't believe how well.
Thought I might post me walking before I have too much of Suzie's Scotch - she is very naughty😄
MEET "BOSTON"
It didn't take us long to get a new Wolfhound pup after recently losing our beloved "Fergus". We picked up "Boston" yesterday. He is 11 weeks old and weighs 15kg! Much fun and joy to be had in the future from this beautiful pup.
Our "Little Lady" looking great with mum today!
And then Friday started with a really difficult foaling to deliver this fabulous Thoroughbred filly at Shipton, Cobbitty. She is one tough filly. It took well over an hour to get her out and she was fighting the whole time. I was only sure we were going to save her when she was breathing through her little nostrils when they were the only part of her head which was out! Most foals cannot survive a long birth because they lose blood supply so quickly. I was so pleased to deliver her alive. I think a colt would have packed it in! I call her "Little Lady" because her mum is "Ladies Choice". My camera crew took the video side on, I'm sorry. They are better at pulling out foals than filming!
"STEADY" SHOWING OFF HIS WALKING
