"Other than the location for the shoot, I very rarely have a ‘plan’ before a session, says Stuart Vesty. "I like to see things unfold and then make adjustments once I get a feel for what’s happening. Regardless of whether the goal of a photo session is to document a horse for sale or for the cover of a magazine, I hope to capture the horse’s personality and expression so the viewer feels as if they are there."

The 2023 All Arabian was held in beautiful surrounds along with ideal weather provided a welcoming day for our two visiting judges on Sunday.
The day ran pretty much to clock work and there are so many people to thank for all the help that was provided before,during and after the event.
Thank you firstly to our members, new, old and those making comebacks for supporting this years event and hopefully we will see you at our next event being the State Championships in early 2024.

A special mention of thanks to the following people who came to the rescue on the day to get the day rolling. Di Hunter and David (Anthony Tropiano) for stepping in at the last minute to take on the stewarding and marshalling duties. It was so greatly appreciated and once again a big “thank you”.
Corrie Lokan your help with keeping the grounds “poo free” during our events does not go unnoticed and definitely is so much appreciated at the days end at pack up time.
We had a wonderful group of sponsors that came on board this year, so please when opening your envelopes take the time to read who sponsored your prize money, garland or class and send them a Thank You, they will certainly appreciate it.

Also a big thank you to Christie Lyn for accepting the offer to be our official event photographer for the day. Please support her with a purchase or two of some moments that you can cherish at this event.

Congratulations to all exhibitors and connections of Arabian, Arabian Derivative, and API horses at the Perth Royal Show! We were very fortunate with the weather for the Arabian day, lovely and cool. The Horses - Breed staff were friendly and efficient, our judge Glenys Lilley was amazing and very positive with her feedback, and the friendly spirit of cooperation between competitors was once again evident.

We are excited to share that the judge for Arabian and derivative breed classes at this years Perth Royal Show is Glenys Lilley!

Glenys is a wonderful advocate for the Arabian breed with her spectacular photographs. She is very well travelled, and has a very well trained eye. We hope you are able to support this show, and we look forward to seeing you out in the ring with your marvellous horses!

The Grand Parade is no longer compulsory, though we hope you do parade your horses as they make a wonderful sight!

Good evening Arabian horse lovers!

The EWA have once again provided classes for Arabian, Arabian Derivative and Arabian performance Index horses at the 2023 EWA Horse of the Year.

The event is being held at the SEC from Friday 8th through to Sunday 10th September.

The Arabian classes are scheduled for Saturday afternoon\evening. It will be a free workout for the classes with no more than 2-3 minute duration. Horses can be shown as either a Hack or Hunter and classes will be judged as per show horse rules. No stallions are eligible to compete. Exhibitors\Owners do not need to be EWA members however the RIDER must be a current EWA member.

Competitors are also eligible to enter in the Fashions on the Field and also attend the 50th Anniversary Function to be held on Saturday night. Competitors will receive free entry to this function and any extra guests of the competitor will be charged $5 each and payable at time of entry.

WAAHA 2023 State Championships
-It is a WRAP-

Over for another year, this show will be renowned for its firsts. Not in terms of location, duration, classes or format. But in terms of the number of first time exhibitors and exhibits on display.

Shown here are two such examples. A first time Junior Handler at her very first WAAHA event, showing a beautiful pony borrowed from a WAAHA committee member. Nervous and apprehensive, this junior received excellent feedback and advice from Judge Barbara in her first class. She reflected on these words of wisdom and implemented them in her next class, showing visible improvement in her skills to take out her very first State Champion title in her second class.

Pictured next is living proof of the superb temperament of the Arabian horse. Here, two rescued Arabians are shown. Kindly and patiently, these people have worked with their horses to form a visible bond of trust. This relationship, for which the Arabian breed is renowned, was on display as both horses calmly showed in the very busy, huge atmosphere to take out Champion and Reserve placings under Judge Vicki.

Full of inspiring and heartwarming stories such as these, the committee now looks
forward to the 2024 Championships.

We thank Judge Barbara Allen-Gale and Judge Vicki Reid for their expertise and kindness.
