Our pups feel the heat too 🥵 So this is just a helpful reminder.

Always have plenty of fresh water available 💦

If the footpath or surface is too hot for your feet, it’s too hot for your pups 🐾

NEVER leave your pooch in a car 🚗🙅🏼‍♀️

And try to keep exercise limited until it has cooled down 🐕

🔥 Hot weather warning ⚠️

As the temperatures soar, it’s important to remember some simple tips to keep our pets protected from the summer heat & prevent life threatening conditions such as heat stroke 🥵

☀️ Don’t exercise your pets during the hottest parts of the day. If unsure it’s best to skip the walk altogether to be on the safe side. Some breeds such as our brachycephalics (eg pugs , French bulldogs) are particularly at risk so ensure they’re kept out of the heat

☀️ Always provide lots of shade & try to bring pets inside. Pocket pets such as rabbits and guinea pigs are especially prone to heat exhaustion so make sure they’re also kept nice and cool 🐰

☀️ Always check the temperature of footpaths and pavement before walking your dog. These can lead to painful burns and wounds needing veterinary treatment

☀️ NEVER leave your pets inside hot cars. The inside temperature of a car is significantly hotter than the outside temperature and can lead to heatstroke quickly

☀️ Ensure plenty of fresh water is available. This includes for our native wildlife who also can struggle in extreme heat with limited access to water

👅 L I C K I N ‘ D E L I G H T S 👅

On todays menu we have some yummy greek yogurt with vegemite, chicken jerky, beef liver and tumeric licki mats 😋

Tumeric is a super herb 🌿💪🏼

It contains anti-inflammatory qualities that help to maintain pain associated with joint issues and arthritis, its a great antioxidant and boosts immune health!

We love a good licki mat 🐶

Happy Sunday everyone, we hope you’ve been keeping cool in this hot weather ☀️🥵

Today Benny and Zelda tested out a new puzzle toy which we absolutely love 👏🏼

Puzzle toys like these snuffle pinecones and other snuffle mats are great for those days you need to keep your pooch inside.

Not only do they provide entertainment for your dog but they’re also a great source of mental stimulation and enrichment which can be the equivalent to a 30min run at the park!

Benny and Zelda definitely approve 🐶

Hello to our wonderful friends and followers 👋🏼🥰

It has been a while since I introduced myself and Benny & Zelda’s so thought it would be nice for those of you who are new to my page and would like a little more information 😊

Below I have written an up to date story about myself and my wonderful business, Benny & Zelda’s.

YOUR PETS HOME AWAY FROM HOME!

Benny and Zelda's is a professional, COUNCIL APPROVED and fully insured pet care business, created in 2019 to provide a service for all pet owners who wish for their pets to receive top care whilst in our home. We cater to all companion animals including; dogs, birds, reptiles, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish etc.

Leaving your pets at Benny and Zelda's means they will receive top quality care by an experienced and qualified veterinary nurse, as well as a devoted and loving pet owner. Your pets will also experience constant one on one attention whilst with us by myself and of course Benny and Zelda.

At Benny and Zelda's, we strive ourselves on how excited our clients are to visit, whether it is for daycare or even a well deserved pamper/bath! We aim to treat all our clients as if they are our own, like royalty, family and with all the love we possess!

ABOUT ME: My name is Kristen! I am 28, I am a qualified veterinary nurse with an extensive set of skills and experience in animal care. I have worked in the animal care industry for over 13 years and have previously worked in several pet care stores and veterinary clinics throughout the Rockingham region.

I absolutely adore all animals and know I am very lucky to be able to do what I do every day. As a business owner, I am determined to provide the highest level of customer service, care and professionalism. I am friendly, approachable and always willing to help with any enquiry you may have.

Benny and Zelda are our kids! We worship the ground they walk on and will do anything for them. They are both super friendly with all people, dogs and children. They are the faces of this business and we just couldn’t image life without them.

My husband Sam is also a major part of Benny & Zelda’s. He is the other face you may see every now and then when you visit and is usually the one all the pups come to for cuddles if I am not available. Sam loves all animals and is with our daycare pups for play or love any chance he gets.
