HOLIDAY TIME

Officially on holidays so will attempt to switch off for the next 4 nights, I don’t even know what it will be like to not look after kids or animals for that long. I aim to be refreshed and back into it by Monday. ✌️

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY

A little Rusty update. He went on a trial over a week ago, we made it official on Sunday and as he lives close to me I see him most days. Every time I see him he gets so excited. This little video gives me something to smile out! 💖

STILL MISSING

Our gorgeous cat is still missing, 10 days now. We have printed over 100 flyers for our suburb, we walk every day, we have done everything possible so now we just hope she returns! 🤞🍀

Avery is a beautiful grey tabby female domestic shorthaired cat approximately 5 months old. She was rescued from Coffs Harbour Pound two weeks ago and is in foster care in Port Macquarie. She is smoochy once she gets to know you. She loves her food and loves to play. She loves a little dog and doesn’t mind other cats so far. She has been desexed today and is starting the search for her new family. She is young enough to fit into most environments but will need a calm patience home to between with. She has been microchipped, vaccinated, desexed, wormed and flea treated. If you can provide Avery with a loving home please contact me to arrange a meet with her foster carer. Please share! 💖

MEET BUDDY

Buddy is a male black and white 4 year old Domestic Short Hair cat aka Moggie. Buddy is a VERY easygoing cat. He is litter trained and has no issues with kids, cats or dogs (once he has settled). He especially loves men. He was originally a farm cat but he has been inside for months now with no attempts to escape. His previous owner did take him walking on a lead. He has taken a week to settle into our home but now he’s so affectionate we can barely get photos of him.

Buddy is microchipped, registered, desexed, vaccinated, wormed and flea treated. He comes with his carrier, blanket, some food and his collar/lead. If you think you can offer Buddy a loving home or are interested in fostering him please send me a message.

MISSING CAT

This is my beautiful girl Winter, female grey fluffy cat, 3 years old, last seen Tuesday 27 August 6pm in Ascot Park area Port Macquarie. This photo was taken 5pm that night.

We had extra people over for dinner on that night, she was playing in the backyard with the kids and unfortunately I haven’t seen her since. We have done everything - our community page, flyers, letterbox drop, spoken to neighbours, several walks every single day, walks late at night, our cat enclosure with her litter tray is open and left food out. She is microchipped, registered and was adopted from the Pound/Shelter. She was born to a feral mum and found at the rubbish tip at 3 weeks old. We hand raised her, she won’t eat any cat food, only meat or leftovers, we did our best to domesticate her but she still has feral instincts and is impossible to contain all the time. We even built a cat enclosure for her and would do our best to keep her inside but we also have 3 kids, dogs in/out and she was miserable in the enclosure. She was always inside at night, she only toileted in the litter tray in her enclosure (if she escaped she literally wait at the back door to go to the litter tray) and would usually come within minutes for food.

We love this cat. She is our family and our house now feels empty. I was hesitant posting about her on my page as there wasn’t any benefit as we are in a small secluded suburb and unless she was catnapped she can’t leave our area plus there are so many judgemental and opinionated people about cats that I couldn’t emotionally deal with until now.

I’ve always been an open minded person who looks at different perspectives. I grew up on a farm, I’ve always rescued and rehomed cats who primarily have a drive to spend time outdoors. In an ideal world all cats would be safely inside, however, we have cats that biologically crave outside and we do our best to manage them otherwise they don’t have another option. Both my cats would have been euthanised if I didn’t adopt them.

I pride myself in honesty and transparency so whilst it is business as usual on my page behind the scenes I am heartbroken. Please be kind! I am manifesting a miracle. 💖🤞😿

A DOGS BREAKFAST ☀️

An amazing work morning at Lighthouse Beach engaging with the community about responsible dog ownership and keeping koalas safe. Thankyou for stopping by to say hello, it was amazing to see so many people, especially dogs I know or have rehomed. They had free Egg & Bacon rolls from the Lions Club, Council giving away leads after a great little quiz and Koala Hospital volunteers giving out showbags and vital information. I’ll share some more information a bit later today too. 🐨🐶

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY

Timothy’s adoption was finalised last night. Look how happy this cat looks. From months in the pound straight to a loving forever home. Fate 💙

Cavoodle Rusty is currently on trial and will be finalised very quickly. Cattle Dog Lettie went on trial this morning and Poppy goes on trial this afternoon. Big Amstaff Nelson even has an enquiry so owners waiting to see how that progresses.

Cats Avery & Buddy are looking for their forever homes or even foster home for Buddy.

A reminder - I am trying to take a break from new rescue and rehomings cases. They are very time consuming and honestly they are very stressful with no financial return (I do it for the animals & genuine owners but I do have a young family to support too). I go on a cruise mid September and aim to come back refreshed and ready to help where I can. Thankyou! 💖

UPDATE: ON TRIAL

MEET BUDDY

Buddy is a male black and white 4 year old Domestic Short Hair cat aka Moggie. Buddy was surrendered to my care on Sunday, however, his owners contacted me over a month ago and this was an agonising decision but it was for his own safety. He wasn’t local to our area but owners used Tallowood Lodge to board him and all rescues/pounds were full so I agreed to help rehome him. Buddy was originally a farm cat but his owners moved and he took to inside life well, he’s now been inside for a few months. He does love some outside time and even took to walking on a lead. Buddy has taken a couple days to settle in our home, he is still in his hiding phase (luckily he has a secure safe guest room), he is VERY easy to care for and once he’s settled he is loving and affectionate. At this stage I don’t see any issues with him going to a home with cats/dogs/kids, however, he will definitely need time to settle!

Buddy is microchipped, registered, desexed, vaccinated, worked and flea treated. He comes with his carrier, blanket, some food and his collar/lead. If you think you can offer Buddy a loving patience home or are interested in fostering him please send me a message. Adoptions are very slow right now and most rescuers are burnt out (including myself) so if you don’t know if you are fully ready to adopt yet consider fostering and you might fall in love or it will give me some time to breath while searching for a forever home.

Today the amazing Tiff from Ports Pooches groomed Rusty (my newest little rescue house guest). He looks amazing. He’s had over 20 enquiries. The first actually on our dog walk this morning (fate ✨). So he is off on a trial this week and then still lots of options. I will get back to everyone’s messages asap. I would prefer to keep him local (within an hour or two) as he has so many options and logistically just easier. Thankyou for patience.

THANKYOU Ports Pooches

Check out Rusty! Tiff offered to groom him so he’d be ready for a new home. I almost didn’t recognise him when I picked him up today. I listed him for adoption this morning, he has a trial lined up plus numerous amazing enquiries. I will get through all messages over the next few days. Meet Rusty, the loveable cavoodle boy! 🐶

This morning, Rusty enjoyed a refreshing full groom in preparation for finding his new furever family. Rusty is incredibly sweet, affectionate and gets along well with other dogs— he will make one family incredibly lucky 🙌

He is being rehomed by Chips and Tricks and has already attracted quite a bit of interest. Please give them a follow in support of the dogs they give loving homes to — and who knows, one day you might come across your new furry family member🐾

PLEASE SHARE - RESCUE NEEDED ‼️

Lettie went on a trial but was sadly returned due to no fault of her own, she was perfect in the home but they wanted to spent more time with their aging dog. Lettie has seen a Vet and has Grade 4 Dental Disease. Her current owner may be able assist with some costs but she was only a temporary home. We are seeking a rescue organisation or even amazing adopter to assist Lettie as she doesn’t have many options!

MEET RUSTY

Rusty is a male white red Cavoodle who has recently turned 1. He has been very loved, his owners have been on contact with me for weeks and he came to my home yesterday for rehoming. Rusty is looking for a loving, patience, committed forever home.

Rusty is house trained, good with children, dogs and even my cats who he had never seen before (but if a cat was to run he may chase and play). He is still a puppy so can be excitable, a little jumpy but responds very well and has good basic obedience. He loves his toys, loves playing with another little dog and loves being by your side. He is use to being inside and with people a lot so if alone for too long he will whine a little.

Rusty is microchipped, registered, desexed, up to date with vaccinations, worming and flea treatment. He has absolutely everything he needs to start his new life (bed, bowls, food, toys, leads, brushes, coat, etc). He does not have any specific needs other than a loving home where he is apart of the family. MICROCHIPPING

Today I had the pleasure of microchipping these beautiful Italian Greyhound puppies. I have known their breeder for many years (she use to come to the Shelter for microchipping as I only use mini microchips and these babies are tiny). I always admired her dedication to her dogs and the breed. Everyone knows I am extremely passionate about rescue and rehoming but it is not for everyone so on the flip side we need responsible, registered, ethical breeders. I will microchip for anyone without judgement as microchipping is the first step and also a legal requirement of pet ownership. 💙

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL DOG DAY 💖

Every day is an opportunity to show love and appreciation for our doggos but International Dog Day, celebrated on the August 26 every year provides an extra special occasion to go above and beyond in celebrating the joy and companionship dogs bring to our lives. The aim is also to raise awareness about the number of dogs that are currently in rescue/pounds/shelters and encourage adoption.

These are my dogs - Miley a 16year old Staffy & Harley a 1year old Cavalier plus Ody a Frenchie who passed 2 years ago.

Aurora has finally landed herself her forever home! This girl was found in the bush, taken to the pound, adopted, rehomed a year later and then a week later.
It’s been 10 days in her new home and today I received this update:

“Quick update for you guys, she's doing really well, I was actually surprised how well mannered and well behaved she is. She is getting along really well with my sister's Labrador that we look after, she was very timid at first but she's getting her confidence up. She’s perfect!” 💖🥹

Today we went to the Cat Lovers Show, I’ll share a video soon but in true cat lovers spirit we are bringing home a rescue cat to rehome (Buddy in the blue carrier). This was prearranged though, owners very genuine and upset, he’ll be available for adoption soon. He was a local cat but they used a local boarding cattery who recommend me and we’d been in discussions for a few weeks 💙

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY

NYX ADOPTED

Approx 6 weeks ago I saw Nyx looking for a new home on some rehoming pages, I was tagged in the post and the owners contacted me to assist. They were wonderful to deal with, they loved Nyx deeply and just wanted the best for him. We got him desexed and started looking for the perfect home. Poor Nyx had a bit of back and forth. He had 5 good enquiries. He had 3 little trials (two of them were for a night and one for just a few hours). He had an enquiry from a friend of mine, an amazing cat foster carer but he’d never been exposed to cats before so I was slightly unsure and he had the other trials lined up. But I knew this home was a committed home, experienced in managing different animals in their home so when he was returned again they jumped at the chance to trial him. Nyx bonded quickly and once their dog Abby (a Kempsey Pound doggo) showed she wanted him it was a done deal. Plus he has been amazing with the cats. This is honestly the best home for Nyx and even better there has been open, honest communication from all parties. This gives adoption the greatest chance of success alongside giving an animal some time to settle. If you can get through the first week it’s usually smooth sailing. Thankyou so much to Jimmy & Cat for adopting Nyx, I can’t wait to keep seeing all these cute sleeping photos. Now I’ll sleep a little better as I’m off to Sydney for the Dog & Cat Lovers this weekend! 🐶💖🐱

WINNIE UPDATE

Three weeks ago I advertised Winnie for private rehoming as her owners were moving overseas. She was a very popular girl, it helps that she was an awesome little social staffy. She went on a trial and today we finalised all the paperwork. She looks so happy & just loving her new life. Thankyou for everyone who was following her story and to her new owners for adopting an adult dog in need! 💖

BOOK WEEK 🥇

As a Mum I absolutely love book week. We have a huge collection of costumes & books (especially dog related books). This costume is a clear winner this year. I love the work mindDog Australia does, I have an amazing client with a certified MindDog and everyday I see the incredible difference dogs make to their owners life! This is an area I hope to delve more into when I have the time 🐶 🌻

WORK DAYS🌟

Incredibly blessed that this is my work. My camera roll is filled with photos of either pets or kids. Behind the scenes I am also working on several private rehomings, finalising adoption paperwork, caring for a cat I picked up from the airport last night, Petsitting visits, writing talking points for upcoming event and of course fulltime mumlife.
