Why is it essential to have heat lamps inside cages?
We are testing our 150 watt carbon fibre heat lamps and it's insane how quickly the element gets to extreme temperatures on full power. These carbon fibre lamps have a built-in mesh over the element, but like any heat source they must be used with a mesh lamp cage to avoid burns.

The mad scientist (aka Daz) hard at work testing testing testing.

Incandescent, Halogen and Carbon Fibre lamps all going through testing with our Reptile House thermostats that will be released soon.

Always good to have a contactless temperature gun to check temps around the setup and also to ensure there is not too much variation from the thermostat readings. There will always be variation from temp guns vs thermostat readings, but using a gun helps ensure that things are at least on track and operating correctly.
