From a mare that wouldn't be caught..to a mare that catches my heart everyday
Baby El Dorado....always wants to play!
Parking my horse on my patio!
CONFIDENCE BEHIND
I love to instil confidence in both ends of my horses.
Having a horse that will confidently reverse anywhere is so valuable and sometimes a life saver!
In this clip Skippy is showing how she will even back through a narrow gap into my patio! Not bad for a claustrophobic prey animal!! Going through...on and under simultaneously...and in reverse is simply amazing! Her trust just blows me away!
I am letting her take her time...letting her check out behind her and supporting her when needed.
I allow her to solve the problem when she goes crooked and just give her time to do it. She doesn't need me to micromanage her lol
Her yawning tells me this is bringing up emotions for her so slowly slowly is the way.
This little quarter horse has taught me alot about patience and looking for the small stuff!
A beautiful teacher don't ya think?
When your young horse answers your phone ....El Dorado (arabian)...lol
Almira playing with my mare Nova...so cool xx
The beautiful Standardbred gelding Idol showing just how well he has learnt how to maintain gait and direction...all by himself. Charlotte is doing a great job of staying on the buckle to allow him to learn this. We have a giggle at the end with his bouncy behind... Learning to canter can be exciting to a young lad lol! Well done Charlotte!!❣️🐎
Giving purpose to the things we teach our horses is super important...to them. How you give purpose is only limited by your imagination!
Here Sorcha has used a few different exercises to teach her lovely standardbred Mickey to push barrels for her...and I would say he has really taken to it lol
They are now the arena clean up crew lol
Koda and I playing with backing up!
It's really important that our horses know how to not only back up...but to back up using their body well! So we play with that a little bit here...as well as some forward to balance it out.
Videos give us a great perspective....and I am so glad I taped this because this is what I look like when I have time constraints! I felt ok but in viewing it back I can see I was running at about a 5 on my energy scale the whole time! I also see the extrovert in me rushing and missing some good places to stop.
Am I upset by this??
Heck no!
That's awesome...because now I have seen it.. I can make changes accordingly and improve ...yay!
Charlotte wanted to teach her lovely young standardbred Idol how to pony another horse...so who better to use than the lovely old boy Alpha. What an awesome team!
Having a bit of a play with leading with Koda! This gorgeous girl is a 4 yr old clydie x paint who is yet to be started under saddle. We have just been playing with basics and then letting her spell while she grows...and grows...and grows lol
Here we are playing with the basics of leading. Videoing is a great way to see yourself through your horses eyes...just by watching this I know what I will be changing! This is all part of a challenge we are doing with AMT equestrian...if you haven't seen it...head over to their page ...it's fun and it's free!
