Progress…. Almost time for some soggy doggies.
We’ve all been helping and respect to limestone layers and 85kg blocks I feel muscles where I didn’t know I had muscles but it’s pretty Cool to say we were part of the process.

Hello Everyone,

We were hoping doing a post this early would give everyone enough notice ahead of time.

We are planning a month closure in August 2026 for rest and renovations and maybe an awesome getaway.

The dates are Blocked out on our booking system but this way it just gives everyone a bit of notice prior to booking anything.

I’m a bit excited for sleep ins and self indulgent activities as our lives revolve around dogs (I’m not complaining as we have the dream working friends and colleagues) who wouldn’t want to see a wagging tail and excited face everyday when you start work with an excited good morning bark like a crowd cheering your arrival and the cheering we get at meal time like master chef winners every time. (That’s what occurs in my head anyway)🤣

Anyway it’s been a long time coming and we will enjoy switching off and not worrying about medications that are due, baths that are due, our dear senior guests along with many other worries about the delicate lives we care for.

I hope this closure doesn’t affect anyone too much especially our fifo clients but we will be back refreshed with an improved facility to assist again on September 1st.

Progress on the pool. Concrete going in- in the next five days
Going for an earthy natural look so the colour Zeus is the go.
Fencing will be Dune so now we just have to sort the indestructible plastic lawn mesh, drainage and the mesh pool fencing down the driveway as the barrier. Can’t wait for summer.

It’s with great sadness that we let everyone know that our beautiful old boy Coco the black German Shepherd passed away last night. My shadow and my rock. I hated going on holiday knowing he’d be looking for me. He was left at our kennels at 1 yrs of age 9 years ago as he failed as a police dog because his soul was too gentle. He was a lover not a fighter. He greeted everyone who came in and he helped the scared dogs feel welcome with his gentle caring approach. He never ever showed any nastiness even when dogs greeted him excitedly he was wise enough to know that they too deserve love and respect. What a void to fill. Those who knew or met him would know what a beautiful soul he was and how lucky we were to have him grace his way into our lives. He followed me everywhere. And wouldn’t let me get a metre out the door before he sprung into action to follow me. He recently became a bit arthritic and was medicated but I noticed it was getting harder for him to follow me, sometimes he would choose to rest over following me which I know would have made him sad to not be able to be by my side.
He did everything with me -school runs, dog taxis, airport lodgements anywhere where I could take a dog. A dog. Not just a dog! We called him Mr Bitey as a joke because he’s never bitten anything other than a chicken drumstick.
My dear old boy I will miss so many little things in every day where you used to be.
He’d also dig holes on command when I said mummy wants to go holiday coco dig to china. So he’d dig to china for me.
He also did sand angels on command in the sand.
I would often find him canoodling with the cat but when the cat was finished he’d make coco move and coco was fine with that cat being the boss. He would give up his own bed for his feline friend. Softest soul.
I know I annoyed him by constantly grabbing him in a choke hold to kiss his temples but he secretly loved it.
Bless you loyal boy- one in a million.
