An important pet care tip for all Pup Parents! 💅

This is your sign to check your pup's nails 💅 Long nails on yourself can be a stunning look, but are downright dangerous on your pet.

Your dog's nails can become overgrown very easily through irregular grooming schedules, growth being hidden by furry paws, infrequent walks or straight-up refusal of nail trimming from sensitive-pawed pups. The rate of nail growth also increases with age, meaning older dogs require more regular nail maintenance.

Overgrown nails present a variety of health hazards. Foreign objects may become trapped under the nails, the length may cause difficulty walking, and longer nails increase your pet's risk of infection through breaking the skin whilst itching. Left unattended nails can even become ingrown, curling back into the foot pad and causing pain and potential for infection 💢

To avoid these nasty complications we recommend setting a regular grooming schedule that includes nail clipping and a nail check. If clipping at home, consult your regular groomer or veterinarian on the proper technique, as improper nail clipping can lead to infection or nail trauma. Additionally, regular walks on pavement or hard surfaces are an easy and natural way help to gently file your pet's nails 🐾

For all the dog lovers and pup parents, today is all about celebrating our furry best friends! 🥰 This March 23rd is National Puppy Day. Celebrate by giving your pup some extra love today, and share a photo of your pup below!

On this day we also direct our attention to the orphaned and abandoned puppies in shelters across the country needing homes. As all dog owners know, puppies need a LOT of love, attention and care to help them grow. The number of dogs and puppies in Australia currently outweighs the demand for pets, leaving many poor pups to live their lives as strays or in shelters. If you're looking to add a new pet to the family, please consider adopting from your local shelter (Glenfield Road Animal Shelter for Wagga Wagga) or a registered rehoming group in your area.

Ready to learn? 🎓 Puppy School enrolments are now open! 🥳

We currently have limited spaces available for our next Puppy School semester. Puppy School is a fun and friendly environment that's perfect for socialising your pup around other dogs and teaching them some useful tricks! 🐶💙 We'll teach you first aid, nutrition, and important health information to help care for your growing pup 🐾🩺
