We require urgent help to search for Shanti. She was last seen at her home in Tanjil South Beckers Bridge Rd.

We know the area will not be easy as it is bushland. So we are asking for everyone to search their blocks and sheds.

If sighted please do not try and catch her as she will run.

Please, if you are thinking about adopting a pet, please adopt from a pound, or shelter, or rescue organisation. If you do, then please, ensure your fencing is secured, and research the type of dog, what their needs are as in exercise and mental stimulation. Then make plans to go to your local dog training school.

SAVING OREO.
Sometimes life isn’t fair, this our friend Oreo and he comes into rescue through nobody’s fault. Life sometimes serves us challenges and we all need a helping hand to get through. At the end of the month Oreo who only knows himself as a big dog will join us.

So as many of you know we are not running our Trivia Night this year. However we are doing something really exciting, which includes your dogs. We are running a 2 day running event. Crazy yes, but then we have always been a little off centre.. Barkin Mad Ultra is our major event this year. Day 1, you can enter a 10k or 20 k run. Day 2 now this is for the serious runners 50 ks, or just for us that want to have fun with our dogs a 2k walk or run in dress ups… So that means prizes!!!
Now all this means you are donating money whilst enjoying the great out doors..
So save the 5-6 of October, and experience Rokeby trail with us.
We would love to see as many Hot Dogs as possible.. or run in their honor.
We will have all the details for you by this Thursday.. Please help us make this work

Please, if you are looking to adopt a dog or cat, kitten you surely have to go to our pound. There are several dogs that need a home, and they are bursting with cats. These animals are all temperament tested and our pound staff work extremely hard to find good homes.
Again do we have to remind everyone that rescues are overwhelmed. Call the pound and arrange an appointment to chose your next family pet..

This is our beautiful boy Boris, we just thought we would give an update… when we say there are reasons why some dogs won’t leave us, it’s because sometimes it’s behavorial reasons and sometimes it’s health reasons. Borris has been diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma, it’s aggressive. It breaks our heart for this gorgeous soul and believe us when we say we will give him every option possible. So starting tomorrow we will be having Boris adventures..

Hi there hooomans, we are getting Barkin excited.. our hooomans are a little bit tired, so we have decided to put our paws up and do some work… If you don’t know me already I am Frank (failed 3 rescue attempts) ended up at HotD, and I will be safe for the rest of my life.
My partners in crime are Tony ( yellow lab geriatric) his crime… he loved his family, served his family and got kicked to the curb, aged 12 yrs😞. Waiting for my new adopted family to return from Italy, they loooove him. Bacon is his morning motivation.😜😋

Miss Betty, Frenchie ( x puppy farm breeder, 6 yrs of hell, will never leave Hotd, as she still cannot function as a family pet. We all just live around her and love her)
Miss Beenie, again x breeder, kicked to the curb no longer of value to anyone. Betty’s side kick and confidence, resident clown.. we all need some light humor.
So we have formed an action committee and will be introducing the rest of the Barkin Mad Ulta team (rescued dogs), as we go along.

So our job is to keep our humans motivated, we are their constant reminder of the job ahead, it’s huge, it’s risky, but we Barkin up for it…

These are the long term faces of Hot Dog, for various reasons they will not leave Hot Dog HQ. Hot Dog is about to go through some exciting changes, we are about to take on new leadership with some wonderful energetic new hooomuns, who we will introduce at a later date, so with this said it is only fitting to thank the people who started this little rescue in 2015.

These founding members made it possible for 270 dogs to be rescued. They managed to introduce pet food into the Baw baw food relief, delivered a 3 ton truck of medical supplies to wild life relief from NSW to Nothern Victoria and East Gippsland during natural disasters, shared funds to aid other rescues. Again thank you.
Now back to the future, please keep the first week end in October free. Hot Dog is going Barkin Mad…. Watch out for more information..

UPDATE.SAMMY HAS BEEN ADOPTED.. 🐾❤️🐾❤️Meet beautiful Samantha, she is 1.5yrs old and a standard poodle. Sammy is very keen to learn..she would probably suit an only dog home as she is not certain with smaller dogs.
Sammy is desexed and fully vaccinated, she also comes with Best Mates

Happy World Veterinarian day. Thank you to all the wonderful Vets who have assisted in the care of our dogs, you are amazing, from basic consults to difficult surgeries, and then the cuddles. This is our incredible Dr Amy.

🔴 Missing beagle in Bacchus Marsh Victoria 🔴

Urgent help required to join a search for missing Elly. It’s been 48 hours Since she was last sighted in the Coimadai park area in Bacchus marsh. If there are any of our families or supporters in the area that are able to help search for little Elly, her mum and the beagle community would be most appreciative.

Little Ellys mum is one of our long term supporters, friends and has dedicated her life to helping people with their beagles, now its the beagle communities turn to try and help her in any way we can. If you are unable to help on foot can we please ask you to share this post with family and friends who live in the Bacchus marsh and surrounding areas.

What do you do if you see Elly?

Please dont chase her, please text either of the following numbers and let them know where you are and where you saw her:

Please stay calm and and either sit down or crouch where you are and try to gently coax her towards you. We need as many sightings as possible so her mum will be able to safely get her within her reach.

Remember Lilly, homeless, well meet Princess Lilly, we want to give a huge thank you to Lisa from Cherokees Canine School and Training for taking her into her home and heart. Lilly is now living her best life..anything is possible when we try. Lilly had been a frequent flyer at Baw Baw Pound, we also need to mention Granite Hill kennels who bought Lilly to our attention.
This is the outcome of a community getting together and making it happen and not giving up.
