After training, Blue has some play time with Smoke.

Smoke is just over a year old, very quick, & can wrestle. Blue, who is being trained in Home & Personal Protection with Loyalty Canine, will take what he learns from Smoke & use it when it comes time to wrestle anyone who dares to violate his family.

Lady Blue is coming close to the end of her first phase of training with Loyalty Canine.

Although she has not had consistency in her training, Lady Blue is still doing very well & has all the foundation commands covered.

Here she is learning to retrieve the ball. Right now, I am more interested in building her drive for the ball rather than her bringing it back. You can also see Lady Blue in her sit & stay, & then biting on command.

Simba & Simba.

Yesterday, 2 year old Cane Corsa Simba had his first training session with me, Simba. Simba is not a green dog & knows enough basic obedience for me to easily build on. Looking forward to working with him.

He is working on the touch pad much better now & continues to improve steadily.

This young man wanted to see how it felt to have a dog bite him with the sleeve on.

Here, I send Lady in on a revere command & then release her for the bite. A good first try for this young man.

Here is Hollie learning what I call the ‘Turn’.

She is to go around the bottle & return to the handler. She is starting to get the hang of it, even with Lady barking as a distraction. Great job Hollie.

Ghost is learning the first stages of the ‘weave poles’.

He has to learn to run straight down the channel created by the poles (in my case, branches from the nearby bushes). The channel starts wide, but gets narrower as he gets better at it.

Ghost has now completed his Basic Obedience course with Loyalty Canine, & while doing his Advanced Obedience & Basic Protection, he is trying some complementary agility work. Congratulations Ghost!

Using the touch pad to teach Blue ‘rear end awareness’.

For this exercise, Blue is asked to move his back legs without taking his front feet off the touch pad. This can take some time to learn, but he is already starting to get the hang of it.

Blue is advancing nicely in his Loyalty Canine home protection training.

In this exercise, he is being taught to confront a burglar at the gate. The decoy was dressed like an intruder, complete with mask. This also helps us to build the pup's confidence so he will be fully ready for action, if the need arises.

Blue had an awesome training session yesterday. He interacted with another dog for the first time since leaving his litter, a great first step in his socialization process.

It is Grey's second session of his Loyalty Canine Basic Obedience course.

Here he is practicing his sit, down from a sit & from a stand. This is really good work from this 5 month old pup. Grey is still not totally comfortable with me & training, as you will note by the position of his tail. Lots of rain so we trained on the inside, but a very good session nonetheless.

Here is Crook assisting me to test Hollie's stay.

After letting them play & get all worked up, Hollie was asked to stay in the down position while Crook tried to encourage her to get up & play.

Before Hollie arrived, Crook would not do anything, not even follow me around. Hollie got him moving. I had to lift him to training as he would not walk. He walked home thanks to the Ifill's.

Zeus' dad had a horrible experience walking him the other day. He lunged at dogs & pulled Dad all over the place, hurting his shoulder.

This session was about starting to address that. We walked along the same route that Zeus gave all the trouble. We anticipate one more session like this, & Zeus will be good to go.

This is Diesel - a one year old German Shepherd that is full of life & in need of some structure.

When I first arrived, Diesel wanted to eat me (well so it would seem). This was our first meeting, so we just went over some basics.

Next week, he will officially begin his Loyalty Canine Basic Obedience course. Looking forward to training Diesel & seeing him access much more of his potential.

While walking Ocean Acres Animal Sanctuary rescue dogs Dodger & Katie the other day, I met three men. At first, they asked if they could pet the dogs. I agreed. While petting the dogs, I mentioned I was their trainer. Two of them then asked to handle the dogs. I agreed.

From the time they took the leashes from me & took some of the treats, it was on. It was obvious they were trainers themselves. One in particular moved with Dodger like the men I watch training dogs in the military. If I had to guess by his clean cut & build, I would guess military. They were impressed with the dogs. I felt good within myself to see how my dogs performed.

Lady Blue is half way through her Loyalty Canine Basic Obedience course. She is doing beautifully & at the end of her course, she will be ready for more advanced work.

This is Chloe, the youngest family member that Blue is being trained to protect.

In the beginning she would run from Blue, but just look at Chloe now - commanding her dog with such authority & confidence.

These two will grow together & form an unbreakable bond, meaning Chloe will have full control of Blue by the time he is a 130+ lbs powerful Cane Corsa.

Now that Blue has established this connection with Chloe, he will protect her from anyone & anything at all costs.

Tank recently completed his 3 week intensive board & train package with Loyalty Canine.

YOU ARE INVITED

The Loyalty Canine Family invites you to join us as we make our contribution to the National Emancipation Day Walk. Walks will be starting from different points, ending at the Emancipation Monument - better known as the Bussa Statue.

We meet at the entrance of the George Lamming Primary School for 5.30am. Walk leaves at 6.00am. The various walks are to reach their destination for 7.00am. Our group will stay at the proceedings for one hour, leaving at 8.00am, returning to the school by 9.00am.

Please note no dog or human aggressive dogs will be allowed to walk in the group.

It is important that we always remember and celebrate those who fought for our liberation and Emancipation from the brutality of the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade.

Modern Slavery is the lack of emancipation from Mental Slavery.

Heart meets Donnie.

Donnie has just started doing some decoy work for Loyalty Canine. Here, Donnie is teasing Heart in an exercise of confidence building. I am also loading Donnie up in the mind of Heart that this is who will be ragging me & giving me my bites.

It’s our first session with Donnie on training his dog Black Smoke. We worked on the sit & down positions, the recall, & walking on the leash. Very nice work to start.

It was an evening of firsts. It was our first Saturday evening group session, first time for Ghost & family, & the first time Lisa is working with Tank after his 3 week board & train with Loyalty Canine.

It was also Lisa’s first time visiting the training ground. For this first time, I just wanted to get Ghost comfortable working with other dogs around. He also got to show his bad boy side in his aggression exercise.

I took Lisa through some of Tank's lesson, & she got the opportunity to work with Tank in his aggression exercise. An awesome first for all. Looking forward to next Saturday at 4.30pm.
