Summer is here, and it's time to make sure your furry friend stays safe around water.
🌊💧💦 Pools, lakes, the ocean, sprinklers and hoses can help our pups stay cool but please use them with caution.
Did you know that water intoxication in dogs is a real threat? Learn how to recognize and prevent it with these important tips:
🚨 Limit the amount of time they spend swimming
🚨🚨🚨Limit amount of playing fetch in the water as your dog swallows water with every time they pick up the stick/ball/frisbee
👉🏻 Keep a close eye on your dog when they're playing in the water
👉🏻 Make sure they're hydrated with fresh water before and after swimming
🚨👉🏻 Seek immediate veterinary help if you notice any signs of water intoxication

1️⃣ Excessive drinking
2️⃣ Lethargy: Dogs who are suffering from water intoxication may become lethargic and less active than usual.

5️⃣ Dilated pupils due to having trouble focusing their eyes
