Our koi came out of the cold very well. Even wanted a bit of food today. A few of them will be looking for a new home this spring.

Pond season opening soon.
We have some very nice Tosai from Isa showa 24 to 27cm which will be available in 3 weeks.
But in the meantime let's enjoy these koi's.

This is another HQ tosay from Fukasawa koi farm, 7.5" last March today just a bit over 15". A beautifull ochiba.

This is one of the HQ tosay we got feom Japan last March, this kohaku was 7" then it is now 11" with a very strong body shape and real nice patent and very strong beni.

Rainy day = low PH in your pond, rain water is low in PH, so a day like today with all the rain we got will lower your PH, so as a precautions and to buffer my water I add Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate).
It will help my PH and feed my bio filter. As an example.over the last 24hr my PH dropped half a point, because of the rain , even with the water at a high GH and KH, my pond water PH went from 8 to 7.25.
I always add Baking soda to my pond on heavy rainy day.
1 table spoon per 1000 gal.
