An easy test is to pluck a few strands of fibre and light a match to it. If it melts, then it contains Rayon. If you find your 'mohair' cinch stretches too much it probably contains more wool than Mohair. Because of the quality of the Mohair and hardware I use, all cinches no matter how simple cost a minimum of $80-$100 US in materials alone. Mohair is expensive but will last a lifetime if taken care of. A wise investment for the comfort of your horse.

Cinch making is a Traditional Cowboy Art. It involves weaving and tying Mohair into a beautiful piece of equipment that offers great comfort to the horse. I offer hand tied Western Cinches, English Girths and Breast collars made from 100% Mohair. You choose the colours to reflect your style and personality. Most 'Mohair' cinches on the market are only partial Mohair because there is no regulation on advertising of fibre content in the textile industry.
