t make a dog do what we want because we “said so”. We must make a connection and gain their trust. Only then can we teach them that there is nothing to fear from the grooming process. Each dog is different and requires something different from the groom. Some dogs need to take breaks, some dogs need to do the zoomies after a bath. Some dogs want kisses, some really don’t want kisses. Some dogs need a game of fetch before standing on the table for an hour, while others need to be groomed over several visits. Since 2010, Amy has been a professional dog groomer, Canadian Professional Pet Stylists member and CPPS certified Salon Technician. Passionate about all things dog, with a particular interest in canine behaviour and holistic well being, she is a certified Fear Free Pet Groomer, educated in dog training from Animal Behavior College, as well as certified in canine first-aid through Walks N Wags.

A Brief History…
In 2010, Amy opened The Unleashed Boutique in Fort St. shortly after graduating from Western Dog Grooming School. She spent eight wonderful years grooming for her amazing clients in the Northern B.C. town, honing her skill in grooming and low stress handling. Early 2019 she moved to Abbotsford, B.C. and in 2020 reopened The Unleashed Boutique. In the reopening of The Unleashed Boutique, Amy has taken her previous focus of low stress grooming and pushed it farther to become a Fear Free dog grooming salon.
