Today’s adventure was spent with .unleashed_ . Fifteen VERY well behaved doggos. No reactions from any of them when people or bikes or even momma bear and cubs walk by. Such a fun day was had hiking, swimming and playing. Thank you Ian for taking us to this fantastic place.

Meet Meeko!! He is a two year old Golden Retriever. His first day with went extremely well. His recall was excellent and he made friends with all the other crew members. Meeko wears a muzzle not because he bites or is vicious, he wears it to prevent him from eating rocks, sticks, bark etc. Welcome Meeko!!

KONA & VIDA - Special guests. I met Kona, Vida and their Mum, Adriana on a hike. Ever since Adriana brings Kona and Vida to meet up with us every Tuesday morning. Kona the boxer/lab X is very friendly and loves to meet everyone. Vida the kelpie/border collie X is a bit more reserved. They both love running in the forest, listening and finding squirrels. Thank you for making our hikes even more enjoyable. We love having all three of you along.

MAUI - the co-captain or so he thinks. Last but not least, my sidekick. Maui absolutely loves going to work. He is so excited when I let him know that it’s a work day for him. If I do have to leave him home some days, he is mopey, he usually heads back to bed and won’t come to say goodbye to me.
Maui really thinks he is co-captain. When I need to recall a dog because they’ve gone too far, Maui will bark at them as if to say “Mum told you to come back”. I do have to keep him in check and not let him get too bossy. Maui likes to do a head count every so often on our hike. He will look at each dog or run over and touch them with his nose. Maui will run with the other dogs and swim, roll, play, you name it, he is up for it. Every now and then Maui will have to do a double shift with me, meaning two hikes in a day. By the time we get home Maui is so tired, all he wants to do is sleep. Maui is one lucky and spoiled doggo. We love him so much. Thank you Maui for being right there with me on this working adventure, it would not be the same without you 😘❤️🐶

SAWYER - The explorer. This guy! Sawyer is the most complex character out of all my dogs. I call him my explorer because he very rarely stays on trail. Most dogs will follow a trail, not Sawyer, he will be in the forest running parallel to it. He loves hiding in amongst the brush and watching the rest of the pack walk past him without seeing him. Sawyer can be aloof, not really interact with the other dogs and other times he will egg on some dogs to chase him. Twice now, Sawyer has been walking behind me then out of nowhere his has run up to me start telling me a story and then just walking away. There was no barking involved, only talking. It was the weirdest thing, like he had to tell me something important. You are one special dog Sawyer. We love having you on our hikes. We love you ❤️

BEBE - The Newbie. Bebe is adjusting well into our pack. She was a little hesitant at first, not sure of the other dogs. She quickly became friends with Toby and Tonka but was unsure of Maui and Berkeley as they play hard. By the third hike Bebe was off leash and was now running with Maui and Berkeley. With her little tail wagging so fast, you could certainly see she is very happy. Bebe is a happy little girl and her listening skills are great. Thank you for your enthusiasm Bebe, it’s very contagious! We love you ❤️

ROSCOE - The little old man. Not only does Roscoe look like a little old man in the cutest way but he has some quirky traits that are just like a little old man. Roscoe some times will bark at another dog like he is telling them what to do, like an old man telling a kid off. Sometimes if Roscoe feels like he can’t achieve something like jumping into the car, he will look at you and wait until you pick him up and put him in the car. When on leash, Roscoe only likes to walk on the left side on the outside of the pack and if somehow he is not in that position he will freeze in place and refuse to walk. Roscoe has a lot of character and we love him for it. Thank you Roscoe for making us laugh, you are certainly loved in our pack. ❤️

JOSIE - The little sister. Josie is young and still learning lots. I pick up Josie on Mondays and boy, is she ever ready to go. Josie uses all of her strength to pull you to the woof wagon. She went from refusing to get in the car to she can’t get in it fast enough. Josie has a big sister at home “Lainey”, but she also looks to Berkeley as a big sister. Josie loves being around Berkeley and will emulate her actions. Josie loves to run and has found the best running partner in Berkeley. Josie is quite curious, she likes to see what you are doing but she is a little timid. You are one fun pup Josie! We love you ❤️

MAX - My lookout (the scout). You will have to walk up ahead of me to see Max. He not only loves to run ahead, he loves to come back and check in, making sure I’m still coming in his direction. He loves to follow his nose, often taking him on a zig zag pattern across the trails. Max is a little protective of me, I keep reminding him that I’m good and can take care of myself. Max likes to listen for squirrels 🐿️ on our hikes and sometimes you will see him trying to climb a tree trunk trying to get to them. Max loves his hikes and utilizes all the forest resources around him. He crawls under logs, walks along fallen tree trunks, enters any streams or water puddles and jumps over any obstacle in his way. We love your enthusiasm Max. Thank you for being part of our pack. ❤️

TILLY - The joyful girl. Tilly is just happy. She is happy to come on our hikes, she is happy to see her pack, to meet any other dog or person along the way. She has a wiggle butt, which I think is the Australian shepherd in her. Tilly is a people pleaser, all she wants to do is make you happy. You are a special little girl Tilly. Thank you for being a part of our pack. Adventures wouldn’t be the same without you. We love you Miss Tilly. ❤️

MAGGIE - The Matron. Where do I start, not because she is naughty, Maggie just has a lot of personality. Take this photo, Maggie gives the best side eye. She will do it whenever she is questioning me on what I’m asking of her. In this photo I wanted her to sit facing me, this was the best she was going to give me. Maggie has a mind of her own, it’s not a bad thing, it just means I have to be proactive. I call Maggie the Matron because she is great at meeting new dogs into our pack and she quickly lets them know if they’re not following the rules. Maggie being a little older doesn’t play like all of my younger dogs. She has about 5mins of play and that is enough for her. Unfortunately Maggie is suffering from some health problems right now and won’t be coming on our hikes for a while. Let’s show Maggie some love and drop a heart in comments. We miss you so very much Maggie and wish you well. We love you ❤️

BAMI - Our International Student. Bami came from South Korea and learnt English so very quickly. We only get to see Bami on a part time basis, when he spends the night at his cousin Libby’s house. Bami fit right in with our pack and loves to run with the big dogs. It didn’t take long for Bami to be off leash as he listens really well to commands. We are excited every time we hear that Bami is coming on our hikes, he is such a good little doggo. We love you Bami! ❤️

MOOSE - The Tiny Horse. There are a couple of reasons why I refer to Moose as a tiny horse, not only does he have long legs like a horse but when he runs his legs are stiff, which is more like a horse. Moose does a flying change on every gallop he does. For non horse people that means he looks like he is skipping with his front legs and galloping with his back legs. Think of a young foal frolicking in a paddock. That’s Moose! Moose loves his hikes with us as he is quite excitable when I arrive to pick him up. We love having Moose in our pack, he is always ready for a hike. We love you ❤️

COPPER - A sweet boy. Copper is a very good boy, he is quiet, and gentle and listens very well. Copper sometimes greets me with a “hellllooooooo” and is excited for his walk. Copper loves to watch the other dogs in our pack and if they are having fun Copper then likes to join in. Copper will get the zoomies from time to time but not often. It is very cute when he does take off. Copper loves meeting new people and enticing them to give him a pet. You are such a chill doggo Copper, we thank you for being such a good boy. We love you ❤️

TUCKER - the baby bear cub. I wasn’t sure what caption to write “baby bear cub” or “gentle giant”. Tucker is so gentle and happy, he is such a pleasure to have him on our hikes. When we come across other hikers they usually tell us that their heart skipped a beat when they first see Tucker. Tucker is quite large and because of his fur colour and how much he has of it, people think he’s a bear. 🐻 Tucker is very excited when I pick him up for our hikes, he has no hesitation about jumping into the woof wagon. He did it from day one without caring to meet the other dogs already in the car, he was ready to go. Tucker loves running through the forest, however, with his fur, he usually brings most of it home with him. Tucker, you are one special dog, we love that you enjoy your hikes so much. We love you ❤️

CHESTER - Our Canadian Idol. Yes, this cute little face can sing and he loves to do it a lot. It doesn’t matter whether Chester is in the car or out on our hikes, he lets it go. Chester is a funny little guy, he pretends to be big and tough but then wags his tail and all is forgotten and wants to be your friend. Chester has some quirks besides his singing. When you take off his harness, he wants to attack it and goes berserk trying to get at it, yet no problem putting it on. Chester has little dog syndrome, he always wants to prove to the big dogs that he has what it takes. But if a big dog approaches him, he is the first to run and hide. You certainly are a character Chester, but that is why we love you ❤️

CALLIE - a working project. When Callie’s owner reached out to me to see if I would walk Callie, I was quite hesitant as Callie has severe anxiety and is very reactive to everything and everyone. Callie had a rough start in life and I thought it might be too much to introduce her to the pack. After sleeping on it, I decided to give her a chance. It took no time at all for her to get to know her pack. I then introduced two more dogs to the pack, one of which is also reactive. Again, with steady corrections and calm environment Callie and Piper are now fast friends. All Callie wants to do is please you, her recall is fantastic and her listening skills are coming along nicely. As long as I have her attention, people and other dogs can now walk past us with no reaction from her. We will work on this until it gets to 100% perfection. Callie your enthusiasm to come on our walks and to really try to do the right thing is so endearing, we just love having you with us. Thank you for really sharpening my dog handling skills, it has helped me to be a better walker. We love you Callie ❤️

BERKELEY - Our agility girl. If Berkeley isn’t running at full speed, she is lying down, she has two speeds that I see top speed or off. On our hikes, Berkeley loves either jumping over logs, running along fallen tree trunks or playing hard with her best friend Maui. Berkeley likes water and has fun splashing around in it, she also like cuddles. When Berkeley is feeling the need for a cuddle she will come close and just lean her whole body up against you. I think this is how she shows that she is happy as she can not wag her tail as it was broken in an accident. Berkeley, your are a fun spirit to have on our hikes, thanks for making them so much fun. We love you ❤️

PIPER - Tiggr, in real life. Piper is a young pup. She is so full of energy, she bounces around like Tiggr from Winnie the Pooh. From standing, Piper can jump so high her back legs almost reach my shoulders. She is learning very quickly to be calm and not reactive. Piper is doing so well, she has made great progress in the short time that I have had her. Piper is a happy girl and her colouring makes her special. We loved that you have joined Aussie Paws, Piper! ❤️

MISHA - the little teddy bear. 🧸 Misha has the sweetest face and she loves meeting new people. Misha is always looking for approval. Don’t stand too long as she will come and lean on your leg begging for a pet. We have become fast friends but it wasn’t always like this. It was a little ruff in the beginning. Misha has learnt to trust what we do and who I am, now she comes running.

OAKLEY - the team player. OAKLEY has the special thing that he does every time I pick him up to go for a hike, he does this, without fail. OAKLEY crouches down onto his belly and does an army crawl across the front yard till he gets to the woof wagon. We have no idea why he does this, but it’s definitely routine now.
OAKLEY gets along with all the other dogs and does what he Is asked of him. OAKLEY loves water and mud and every opportunity he gets he will lie down in water or mud. Lastly, how can you not love OAKLEY‘s face especially when I am driving any rest his head on my shoulder for the entire journey to the trails. Thank you for being such a team player OAKLEY, we love you so much. ❤️

Maggie enjoying life 🐶💕

Never thought I’d have an impact on my pups, always thought it would be the other way around. This young guy, Toby, when he first started walking with me, he never looked in my direction. Toby would not come to me, he would not take a treat or drink water that I would offer to him. Toby did not interact with the other dogs either, choosing to ignore them. Then slowly things began to change. He now comes up to me and gives me a kisses. Toby now eats treats that I offer along with water that I give the pups on our hikes. And now he walks off leash with the pack and has started to play with them. Congrats to you Toby for making leaps and bounds in your confidence 🙌🏼🐶❤️#soproud #onehappydog #goodboy #goldendoodle
