Opening October 2022, F3 Ranch is a family-owned and operated equine sanctuary, located 45 minutes east of Fort Saskatchewan in Lamont County. The ranch started with a vision of a relaxed multi-discipline facility and has become a safe haven for rescued and misunderstood horses. Our mission has been to rescue and rehabilitate as many horses as our resources allow. Working with Horse Hero’s Alberta

, we help to pull horses from local auctions who are destined for the slaughterhouse and offer them a forever sanctuary or second chance training for rehoming if possible. We encourage people to come to spend some time with these amazing animals and hopefully find some healing of their own. So, whether you are volunteering, visiting the horses, attending an event, or an artist looking for inspiration, you are part of the F3 Family!

Today is one of those super hard days living on a farm. I know I share more triumphs than defeats, but today I'm going to share my pain too. Between yesterday and today, my entire flock of chickens was wiped out by an unknown toxin. Just like that, in the blink of an eye, my entire beloved flock of chickens is gone. To say I'm crushed is an understatement; I'm writing this through a veil of tears. I know to some they are just chickens, but for me, someone who rarely leaves the farm, they are an extension of my family.

Tomorrow is farrier day!

Can we rally together a few generous sponsors this evening and tomorrow to give our magnificent horses the gift of manicures.

Each horse's pampering session costs $40, and our goal is to treat at least 5 of these beautiful creatures. I'll keep you updated on our progress!

One of our rescue kitty's surprise litters has resulted in 7 of these cutie pies!!

Looks like Milkshake brought all the boys to the yard, because all the male cats here ( that we know of ) are neutered lmao!

She won't be going outside until she's spayed now.
I swear our vet must think they found a gold mine in us lol!

If anyone wants a barn cat or even a house cat please let me know now and I'll start a list of potential homes. Milkshake is available for adoption as well :)

They are all Grey, Grey/white, or black and white.

Im so happy to announce that Bowie is on his way to his forever home! But it is also breaking my heart to see him go. I'm going to miss his big butt backing into me looking for a bum scratch!

God speed Bowie, I hope this next stop in your lifes journey is a everything a horse could ever ask for.

WHY? Why should these Alberta Wild Horses be captured or darted with contraception? What science could the Government show to prove that this is necessary? Or, ... is it strictly political to satisfy the current Minister of Forestry and Parks, who incidentally has an Outfitting business in the Alberta Foothills, with a lot of like minded buddies, who think the horses are a nuisance to big game hunters. Or, ... could it be to appease the very powerful Cattle Lobby?

Well folks, there is one force stronger than all of those combined. It's YOU and US!

The Alberta Government has refused to produce the independent Rangeland Inventory reports for the puclic to see. WHY?
Well, perhaps because they show and have recorded that the "feral"horse is only mentioned less than 5% as connected to any Rangeland intrusion. That's right! They know this and will not share that data.

The Call to Action is pinned to the top of our page. Be vocal, be loud, and be a voice no matter were you call home.

There are some new faces on the Ranch this week! These beautiful Cayuga ducks have joined the flock from a farm down the road that needed a new home for them. So far they are doing great :)

The names we have so far are Darkwing and Valor, any other suggestions?

I think Rags naturally knows I need comfort while in the car and long trips are really hard on me. He insisted on sleeping on my lap the whole way down and for the first time in a long time I actually felt calm in the car.

And then again. No matter where you live, you are allowed to love these few remaining and unique Alberta Wild Horses, and yes…. Your voice counts. Email now.
