Door manners, so important for all dogs on every type or doorway car door, front door, gates whatever it is, teaching your dog not to rush out could save their life (even if you do have a super long driveway like me) and it makes it so much calmer and easier when you travel and want to open the doors without a dog rushing to come out
An important one for all dog owners out there who might be working through some struggles right now... Comment your answers/questions below👇
Scatter feeding, such a simple thing to do and yet it builds so many powerful concepts :
✅Grit
✅Confidence
✅Disengagement
✅Tolerance to frustration
✅Arousal down
Calmness, action prompting & tolerance to frustration, are only some of the things you'll encounter throughout your dog's life. In this video I'm working with Polka through some struggles as she expects to be able to go check out Anika's Kong but I actually want her to stay settled on her bed instead, at least until I release her so she doesn't get into a habit of rushing to Anika's dish/passive calming just because Anika walked away, you never know she might come back for it

Let's see what you guys use as a "magic cave" in the comments!
I'm going to start trying to film some more real life training tips tricks and other things I do with my dogs. The videos won't be perfect nor will they be edited so you see everything that happens. Hopefully you guys can hear and understand what I'm saying😂 if there is any topic you would like me to cover do ask!
Quick note for this video specifically, if my dog struggled with proximity/recall I would have them on a long lead so they couldn't run away or to prevent rehearsal of unwanted behaviours!
A bit of real life training tonight! Anika gets a snuffle mats with her supper in it to get her tired from all the sniffing, get her using her brain, build her confidence and a bit of fitness as she has to stand for a longer period of time and move around. As for Polka some real life boundary to help prevent any resource guarding on Anika's part with the snuffle mat and to help her settle. Polka is pretty experienced with boundary games but I keep pushing to bring them to a better level today that is done simply by moving the bed to another location and having a lower rate of reinforcement that she might be used too! For less experienced dog I would give them a passive calming activity to keep them busy like a stuffed frozen kong/licky mat/stuffed trachea... With probably an X-pen around the boundary in case they finish their passive calming activity before I'm done with the dishes!

Buster came in for his first appointment nail trim and tidy up of the feet/feathers/pants and after the fact played a bit with the donut I use to get the dogs attention for pictures!
