The buns will be going to Sanctuary in August. Everything we own will be going will them. That means the shed and playhouses need to be moved. Looking for any input/recommendations for someone capable of moving these buildings to Annapolis Valley from Bridgewater.

What a gorgeous day it is outside! Today was deep clean and nail trim day. As you can tell Thistle is absolutely thrilled with her new manicure. 🙃

We are trying something new this year!

Wanting to adopt a bunny, but not really sure if your are ready for a long term commitment? Why not sponsor one of our ten lovely buns instead?

A suggested donation of $25 is recommended, but you can certainly donate whatever fits your budget.

All funds raised will be going with the buns to their new home at North Mountain Animal Sanctuary in August. These funds will help provide them with much needed food, hay, greens, enrichment, upgrades to barns/sheds and outdoor spaces, as well as vet bills.

Jett had a succesful first afternoon and evening in her new home. This is exactly the type of accomodations that we hope all of our bunnies recieve.

Looking for Fosters:

We are currently looking for fosters so that we can kick off some much needed spay surgeries needed for the remaining girls in our care.

We will provide you with everything you need to care for the buns such as hay, litter boxes, and an xpen. All you need to provide is love and a safe place for these little loves to heal.

We are looking for homes that can committ to a minimum of two months time. This is to ensure that the girls are fully healed and hormone surges have calmed down before returning to the rescue or finding their forever homes.

EDIT: New supplier has been found and our first delivery is tomorrow evening. Yay!

We are seeking a new supplier for hay. Sadly, due to unforseen circumstances, our current supplier is no longer able to provide us with this much needed supply.

We are looking for someone who has a vehicle big enough to pick up 3 or 4 bales of hay from Valleyfield Farm once a month.

Alternatively, if you know of anyone selling 2nd cut hay bales and wouldn't mind delivering to Bridgewater please have them reach out.

Looking to adopt or foster?

Woodstock, tan bun, is just over one year old and looking for a cozy home for foster/foster to adopt. Her spay surgery is coming up next month and would love to have a warm and tidy place to heal.

Jett, black bun, is looking for a forever home. She is very laid back, honestly, nothing phases her. She is the most relaxed bun in the rescue. She doesn't care too much to be fussed over, but does come to say hello everytime someone stops in. She gets along well with other rabbits, super clean with her litter habits,, spayed, fully vet checked, and has amazing recall when it is time to go back in her house for the evening.

*PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT**

Friends, the past three years have been very rough in the Veterinary industry and especially so at the Metro Animal Emergency Clinic. Our assistants, technicians and veterinarians have worked tirelessly 24 hours a day, 7 days a week providing emergency and critical care for pets of Nova Scotia.

On Friday November 25th and Saturday November 26th, from 8 am to 6 pm, the Metro Animal Emergency Clinic will be CLOSED. During this 10 hour period of time those two days, your family veterinary team will be responsible for seeing their own emergencies. All veterinary hospitals have been informed of this short closure well in advance so they can adjust schedules and availability accordingly.

When we reopen at 6 pm on those days we will see emergencies as we normally do. Please note that these are temporary, planned closures.

Fiona, previously Butterscotch, has grown to be so big and beautiful. She has already become a foster fail at only 3.5 months old!

We can't thank her family enough for bringing her in when we needed the help most. Moments like these make my heart happy and it is my hope that every bun in the rescue will eventually get their forever just like Fiona has hers.

We have many rabbits available to adopt, 5 to be exact and 6 that would love a foster home for the winter months. If you would love to help please, please reach out. Fiona, previously Butterscotch, is fitting right in with her foster to adopt family and has even bonded with the family cat! So very sweet.

He has been checked on. A little shooken up likely from his close encounter with a vehicle, but otherwise fine. Thank you so much to Nicole for checking in on him. ❤️

I've been informed that this bun may have been hit by a vehicle. It is located at Weagle's bakery and I just do not have the means to check on it at this moment. Is there anybody out there who could pop by for a wellness check and let me know if they are still there and appeared to be injured?

IMPORTANT NOTICE!

We will no longer be taking intakes as I plan to close the rescue after all of currebt buns are adopted.

This was not an easy decision to make, but it is what I need to do to keep myself mentally well. Running a rescue is immensely physical and taxing on the brain... My soul needs healing and to do that I need less on my already full plate.

Thank you to all of those who have supported us on our journey over the past year or so. We could not have done it without you.

Beatrix and Linus love snuggling anywhere and everywhere. If you wouls like to adopt a wonderfully bonded pair of rabbits, these two would be high on the list.

They are easy going, funny, used to cats, and love having supervised play time outdoors.

FOSTER OR FOSTER TO ADOPT

Woodstock is looking for a foster or potential foster to adopt for the winter months as she is awaiting spay surgery. She is one year old and is a very outgoing and spunky girl who would love a nice cozy home and people to shower her in love. She enjoys having things to chew and dig. If indoors she would benefit from a dig box, but she had certainly benefitted from having space outdoors to do such and activity. She is bunny friendly, has exposure to cats, and children, and would make a great first time bun for someone that has a safe indoor/outdoor environment for her to explore.

Beatrix and Linus are loving the housebunny life at their foster home. They get the best of both worlds as they get ample time outdoors in a bunny safe pen during the nicer weather.

They also have exposure to foster cat siblings and it seems they get along pretty well with them.

Beatrix and Linus are just over one year old, are fully vetted, spayed and neutered, litter trained, and looking for forever. They are bonded, so they must go together.

Jett is still looking for forever. She is one year old, super chill and relaxed, gets along well with ither rabbits, litter trained, super clean, likes the outdoors in small increments, and is fully vet checked.

Jett would most certainly prefer to be a house rabbit. She is a master of lounging and would be the perfcet bun for a first time bunny parent. She would be happy on her own or with a friend. She also enjoys cats and has had some exposure to dogs.

I would love, love, love to find her a home before winter. If you are intrested and can provide a safe and loving home for Jett please send us a message as she certainly would love to find her forever family.

FOSTER OR FOSTER TO ADOPT

Sweet Patty is one year old, quiet and reserved, and is always the very last bunny to return to the shed after a good romp outdoors. She has amazing recall(snapping/gentle clapping) to return home. She is litter trained and also awaiting spay. Patty does play within the colony, but would honestly appreciate a home by herself at this time. If you have a mixed space(indoor and outdoor) to provide her over the winter she would be most happy as she really enjoys her quiet time to explore. She is not as food motivated as the rest, but certainly enjoys foraging for fresh greens and loves banana.

Sally and Scout are enjoying some of the fresh Mountain Ash that mother nature delivered to us over the oast 24 hours.

Sally(tan) is one year old, enjoys hanging out with the micro colony (5 ladies), is super frienldy, vet checked, litter trained, and awaiting spay. For this reason she is available to foster or foster to adopt only. However, we just know that she would love a nice warm home for the upcoming winter months.

Happy International Bunny Day!

Our buns weathered the storm with the help of fosters and sturdy and warm houses. Mother Nature has even provided some wonderful enrichment. The buns might not be able to enjoy any outdoor time today, but at least we can bring the outdoors in.

Beatrix and Linus have already settled into their foster home quite nicely.

Their foster mom, Alicia, has sent me the following message.

"They like chilling together, Linus tried to eat my coffee table but when I told him no he stopped, gave him a paper bag with handles and he was happy to chew that in stead.
The cats like to sit on their house and the buns don’t seem to mind them at all. They like to be pet but don’t really come to me, and Beatrix thinks it is funny to make me run after her round and round the coffee table when it is time to go back in pen.

We had a discussion about using the litter and not the floor and they have listened. Not one accident.Very good bunnies.

They would be great for someone who likes laid back, no mess and sweet buns."

Sweet Jett will be heading off to a "bunnymoon" for a potential mate this weekend. We are beyond thrilled and cannot wait to see how things work out for her! 🥰

Say Hello to Jett!

She is around 9 months old. Her and her litter mates were our first rescue of a litter. She is the last solo bun available and would love a home to make her own. She loves hiding in blankets, her pine hut, and loves to investigate new places. Jett is not a fan of other female buns since her spay, but would love to give bonding to a male a try.

All of our buns come spayed/neutered, fully vetted, litter box trained, and with some supplies/enrichment to start her off on her journey in her new home.

Not sure if adoption is the right fit? We have three buns available for foster, all supplies covered, you just provide the love.

Linus isn't a huge fan of the warm weather, but his house keeps him nice and cool. He prefers to hang out solo in a nice fluffy patch of grass, or snuggled up to his main squeeze Beatrix.
