No such thing as too cold for these two high energy puppers!
Perfect day for some high speed action at the park.
Cold or not Dynamic Dogs is still out walking.
If you have a cold weather dog who needs some exercise shoot me a pm and let’s book some walks! 🐾
Clever Carmella is a quick learner!
She is walking calmly and confidently on leash. Sometimes there’s slack, sometimes not so much at this point but it’s a work in progress. She is much less reactive and when she does get insecure its easier to deal with and less of a melt down. She is giving to pressure as you can see when I stop walking and she feels the pressure from the leash and chooses, correctly, to sit down.
Her Mom reports she has been much better with her human sisters at home and is an easier dog to have around. 🐾
Carmella has issues with aggression and reactivity, as you can see here.
Believe it or not this is much better than she was when we started out 5 sessions ago. I wasn’t able to get any video of how she was when we started as it was a two handed job keeping her under control, and I am just one woman!
I use positive reinforcement methods along with fair and firm corrections when I work with dogs. Carmella needs to build confidence. In order for her to do this I need to remain a calm assertive leader in all situations. She is very clever and is making progress with each session. Looking forward to sharing more updates with you soon!
It’s been a while since we did a Veida update, so here she is! Happily walking on a loose leash, with relaxed body language a soft eye and a happy tail.
Looking pretty dynamic! 😉
If you scroll back in the feed you can see some videos of Veida when she started out with us. She was very tense and on edge and felt like she needed to be “large and in charge” on walks. She would bark and leap around with hackles up when she saw other dogs, and pull hard constantly on leash with no regard for the puny human on the other end. She still gets a little tense when we see other dogs, but she is still a work in progress.
Need some help with your pup? Or does he/she just need to get out and have some fun as you head back to work? Give Dynamic Dogs a shout and let us help. 🐾
Meet Rosie, a one year old Golden Retriever.
Look how incredibly well mannered she is!
Note the relaxed body, slack in the lead, and how she checks in with me with eye contact! 👌
Rosie is a beautiful young dog who is just a dream to be around. I’m so lucky to have all these lovely youngsters in my group! How exciting. 🐾
Veida is doing soo well!! She’s much more relaxed on our walks and we’re both enjoying some slack in the leash. She’s quick to check in with me when we stop walking without me even having to remind her. She’s also becoming less reactive but we’re going to keep working at that one.
Look out for more updates on this clever pupper to come. 🐾
Meet Islay (pronounced ILA). She is a beautiful, well behaved five year old Boxer. I’m SO excited to welcome this lovely lady to my pack, she is a delight! 😍🐾
Happy Friday!!
Veida is doing so well!
As you can see in this quick video, her body language is much more relaxed and she no longer feels the need to be on guard on our walks. She’s actually enjoying sniffing around as we go and is much softer in the way she travels.
Her Mom tells me that Veida has been much better both at home and on walks and her 14 year old daughter has been enjoying walking her again.
I just love being able to help dogs and their people. Please reach out so I can help you and your pup, now taking bookings for next week! 🐾
Yappy little dog driving you batty? Teach him to “speak” on command to curb the habit. 😉 🐾
Leo gives us a quick demonstration.
Here Veida and I are passing another dog on the opposite side of the road on the way home from our adventure today.
My videoing skills aren’t the best. I’m just trying to illustrate her reaction, or lack there of in this case, and the fact that she clearly sees the other dog.
This is a big improvement in a short time (4 walks) and I’m very pleased with her progress!! 👏
As you can see from her body language Veida is a bit tense. She’s carrying her tail high and without a lot of movement and her posture is very upright and alert. She did settle a fair bit throughout the walk today and I look forward to seeing her a lot more relaxed as we progress.
The key to dogs with nervous reactivity is consistently giving them confidence by being a calm assertive leader. They don’t have to worry about perceived threats, you’re in charge and “you got this”.
Veida was a good girl and responded really well today. I’m excited about her, she’s got lots of potential! 🐾❤️
Tiny dogs are Dynamic too! They just need to be dressed for the weather.. especially when they’re hairless! Here is Leo enjoying his on leash walk. 🐾
