Well two more hatchlings have pipped. The third egg had a fully developed hatchling but unfortunately the egg went bad so it didnt make it through the incubation process. Im still happy with the results nevertheless. I lost one but it happens and in this industry you have to have a thick skin. From what I can see so far I have four Amel Tesseras and two Amels. The Tesseras are stunning and will be beautiful as they grow out. Ill have a better look to determine these two once they have had their first bath...............

Well so far the hatchling boas are all doing great and Ive been successful getting 11 out of 14 to take a meal and some are on their second. Encouraging them to begin to eat can take patience and continuous offerings but the way things have been going I dont anticipate any difficulty getting the last three hatchlings to take a meal. It also helps that they are all healthy decent size hatchlings and as you can see one of them eagerly took a decent size meal today......................Regius Picasso~ Creating living breathing art
Its too bad the other eggs didnt make it to term. It would have been cool to see the variation in this clutch. Nevertheless this little hatchling will be staying here and its not hard to see why.

I was kind of leary leaving this clutch of hatchlings while travelling to Windsor for a week but they all did fine. They have all had their first shed and ready for their first meal. Im not too sure whats going on with this clutch but they look awesome in person. The mother was really red as a hatchling so I thought she may be heterozygous for albino so I purchased a albino male which was her mate. I dont have a connection to either previous owner and this is my first boa clutch. At the time I began the project I didnt realize there was different locales with boas and I dont plan to go into boas too far other than to produce simple albinos or sunglows so these hatchlings will be rehomed as cool pets that are het for albino.......................... This breeding season was off to a good start but so far its been indifferent and not sure how it will turn out. There were alot of surprises and alot of things that went wrong too. Ive also been less attentive then usual as Ive been really busy with alot of other things. This little egg is from a clutch of 12 from a amel corn snake that was gravid when I purchased her and some others. They ended up having mites and I didnt take the neccessary quarantine measures before added them to my collection so ended up fighting a infestation. Its alot easier fighting mites with one or two animals. Its a different story when its the entire collection. Nevertheless I was able to get it under control and near extermination as I have had experience with it in the past. So when I got a clutch of eggs from one of the females I thought awesome but unfortunately alot of the eggs had weak structure and only one survived the incubation period. This is that one and its looks to be amel tesserra at minimum which is awesome. It also kind of evens things out with the cost of the chemical treatment sprays and work that had to be done. Its going to be awesome to see what it actually is once its out of the eggs.........................
This just happened @ Regius Picasso π
Well we ended up with 14 beautiful babies! The mother didnt turn out to be heterogeneous for albino like I suspected so these babies are all heterogeneous for albino possibly anerystic. They are all healthy and doing well no still borns or deformities. This marks the first live birth as well as boa clutch for Regius Picasso. I didnt realize what was going on and upon doing my normal daily cleaning I thought why is there so much water in the possibly pregnant females hut when I didnt even leave a water dish in there overnight thinking she could possibly go into labor. In the end it was her water that broke and once I opened it what a surpise!
