Last but not least, duck hearts are back tomorrow!

Duck hearts are rich in protein and taurine, also containing high levels of selenium, phosphorous, niacin, and zinc.

Duck hearts can be a little fatty, but did you know - duck fat contains oleic acid and linoleic acid - similar to olive oil!

These duck hearts are sourced from a local farm right here in Alberta!

We'll release our full list of new and restocked items tomorrow morning before our restock at 6PM MST!

It was high time for some rabbit balls 🐇

These balls consist of whole ground rabbit including rabbit meat, bone, and organs (liver, heart, lungs, and kidneys).

Rabbit meat is high in protein, low in fat, and is considers a hypoallergenic protein!

If your pup is not a fan of raw rabbit, freeze-dried rabbit can be a great way to get them started on it. Until eating freeze dried rabbit Sender would not touch rabbit. Now, freeze dried or raw, it's one of his favourite proteins! 😋

These balls are easily broken in half and suitable for cats, and dogs of all sizes!

C A M P M I X 🏕️

A hypoallergenic mix of some of our favorite treats to bring along on your adventures this summer!

We made sure to not include most potential allergens like chicken, beef, or duck, and we chose ingredients to help keep your pet fueled for summer adventures!

Bison tripe: Green bison tripe is nutrient and protein packed to help build and repair muscle. Plus it can boost gut health and the immune system.
Bison tongue: High calorie, high protein nutritious boost for those long days on the trail.
Pork heart: A natural source of taurine, an amino acid that is important for maintaining a healthy heart function in pets.
Quail medallions: Great for feeding whole prey on the go and without the mess! Contain quail meat, organs, bones, and ruffage - rich in nutrients and great for GI health.
Goose liver: Rich in vitamins and minerals, and primarily contain anti-inflammatory monounsaturated fat.

Camp Mix will come in 3 sizes, 43g, 85g, and 142g. The 43g bag is a great way to sample a variety of our treats and the larger bags are ideal for bringing along on a trip or camping!

Next month we will be testing out delivery within Calgary city limits!

We are planning to make deliveries once a month - the second Tuesday of every month (one week after our monthly Restock & Release).

For orders over $100.00 - delivery will be free, and orders under $100.00 - delivery will be $8.00.

We will add more information to our FAQ page once we open up delivery on our website on May 1!

P.S. We won’t be ringing any doorbells since we don’t want to disturbed any doggos! But you will receive text or email updates!

Wild-Stuff Puffs are making a comeback!

We originally released these as part of our seasonal Christmas treat collection and they were a big hit so we’ve decided that they work great as a year-round treat option. We have swapped out the cilantro, rosemary, and thyme, and have instead added watercress. I have been slightly obsessed with this little green lately as it was named the healthiest vegetables out there. It is packed with nutrients, containing Vitamin C, A, K, calcium, manganese, and potassium.

We wash, freeze, then blend the watercress with whole quail eggs, making it more digestible. With watercress being so nutrient packed we made sure to not over do it, so picky dogs will not be turned off and over feeding will not be a problem as long as you stay within the 10% rule (treats should not make up more than 10% of a dogs diet).

Ingredients: Bison (meat and organ), elk (meat and organ), venison (meat and organ), quail eggs (with shell), watercress

Our final new item for our April Restock & Release!

Freeze dried elk trachea strips for your pets!

Trachea is composed of cartilage, rich in chondroitin and glucosamine - great for the joints! Plus since trachea does not contain bone, these are a softer chew that still work the jaw and help keep teeth clean!

Plus being elk, they are hypoallergenic!

We cut them into strips for safer chewing but as always feed with supervision and know your pets chewing ability!

These are coming tomorrow, April 2 at 6 PM MST. We will post a full list of items that have been restocked tomorrow!

The power of pork 🐷

Feeding raw pork can sometimes be daunting due to a couple dated misconceptions:

◦ Pork is fatty - pork is actually a lean meat (depending on the cut), containing less fat than lamb and beef!

◦ Pork can contain trichinosis - luckily this parasite has been nearly eradicated in Canada, there have been no cases in over 40 years from commercial pork.

Pork is actually a very beneficial protein to feed. It is a nutritious meat and the tongue and heart are a great source of taurine! We carry pork heart, pork kidney, pork medley (lean cuts of pork muscle meat), and now - pork tongue!

We source our pork from a local Alberta farm that pasture raises their pigs, allowing them to explore and socialize. They are fed a healthy diet - soy, canola, corn, and GMO free.

Pork tongue will be added to our shop on Tuesday April 2, at 6PM MST!

Featured protein: Quail 🪶

We have quite a few quail options to choose from: Quail Chicks, Quail Fledglings, Quail Eggs, and Quail Medallions. The reason we opt to have so many is because we have yet to come across a dog or cat allergic to quail!

It’s a great alternative for pets that are allergic or sensitive to most poultry, plus it's a nutrient packed protein. Our Quail Medallions are one of our most popular products because they give the benefits of whole prey (roughage), without the appearance.

We source our quail products directly from a local family run farm, which is how we are able to keep our quail products at a more affordable price!

Spring is coming! 🌸

For our March R&R (Restock & Release) we have reimagined our “Ghost Balls” and “Pumpkin Spice Balls” from last Fall.

These “Glazed Elkberry Cheese Biscuits” are composed of all healthy ingredients!
The biscuit: Ground elk meat, raw goat cheese with spirulina.
The glaze: Water Buffalo yogurt, ground elk meat, chia seeds, and dragon fruit powder.

We had a different technique with the yogurt this time around, ensuring these biscuits will travel better, with less crumbs and you can break them into pieces! We hope you and your pups enjoy them as much as we do!

They’ll be arriving in our store on March 5, 2023 at 6 PM MST!

Our shop may be closed for a week, but we still have new items coming next month!

Green tripe has been something that I have been looking for since starting this treat business due the health benefits and taste (to dogs) and finally it is here - Freeze Dried Green Bison Tripe!

Government inspected facilities are not allowed to harvest tripe so finding a reliable and clean source was difficult and we are beyond excited about adding it to our shop! Tripe is not considered human grade until it has been bleached and scalded, at which point it loses the majority of its nutrients. This is why the “human grade” label is missing from the packaging, even though we have sourced the tripe from human grade, grass fed bison.

We plan to soon bring in more bison meat and organs as bison is both lean and nutritious. Plus it is a great alternative for those dogs and cats that are allergic or intolerant to beef!

Freeze Dried Green Bison Tripe will be arriving in store on March 5, 2023 at 6 PM MST!

When things don't quite go to plan ~ Shop Update!

Currently our larger freeze dryer is down for the count. Luckily we had just gotten a second one a few weeks ago but it still has really slowed down our ability to make treats. We had plans for a couple other new releases but unfortunately they've been put on hold till March!

Our Restock and Release is on January 30th, next week! It's happening a week early so we can get those Valentine's biscuits out in time as we'll be taking a little break in early February and closing the website for a week!

Another fishy option coming soon 🐟

A lot of our chews are on the larger side, better for medium and large dogs but we are working on adding some smaller snacks more suitable for small pups and cats, such as frog legs.

Next restock we'll also be adding Freeze Dried Raw Lake Smelt! Smelt is a rich source of protein. They contain phosphorus, selenium, vitamin B12, manganese and omega-3 fatty acids, and they have moderate levels of copper, zinc, magnesium, and calcium.

Our next Restock & Release will be on January 30, at 6pm MST. This restock is coming a week early for a few reasons. February is a short month, we'll be taking a short break in February, aaaand we have a special Valentine's treat coming that we want to ensure reaches everyone in time ❤️.

With the start of the new year we are launching our second ambassador search!

We had a great team for our first ambassador term and it was a big learning experience for us and we have made some adjustments.

The term will be six months, from January 29, 2024 to July 31, 2024.

We are looking for 8 team members that live in Canada and are like us, extremely conscious of what they feed their pets and want only the healthiest for them. Previous ambassadors are welcome to apply again!

Our treats are made from only the best ingredients - human grade proteins (with the exception of tripe). We aim to source all proteins from local Alberta farms, though there are some exceptions, like our wild caught fish products. We find farms that raise animals without the use of hormones or antibiotics.

Our requirements:
- Post at least 2 posts (photos or reels) per month, and a minimum of 2 stories per month.
- Raw/unedited quality photos of your pets enjoying our treats uploaded to a google drive folder for us to edit/feature.
- Share our giveaways, announcements, and events. Be active and engage our posts and your fellow ambassador posts.
- Have your follower discount code in your story highlights and/or the link in your bio.

What you get:
- Early access to new products drops and restocks.

How we feel after a restock 🫶

I can't believe it's been 6 months since we first launched Sender to the Summit Snacks.

It's been an amazing half year of growth and so so SO much learning.

When I say we, I refer to just Sender and I, running this business. I had a biology and wildlife rehab background going into this and no experience with building a business. I've learned so much and still have a lot to learn.

We have so much to be grateful for. We are thankful for all your support and our wonderful ambassadors for helping to share and grow our business. Plus a huge thank you to my mom / Sender's grandma ~ helping to make and cut the treats ~ without her there would be either a lot less stock or I'd be working 24/7.

We are looking forward to 2024 and have some exciting things to look forward too! Plus our second ambassador search will open up next week!

Three new freeze dried chews for the new year! 🎊

If you tried our FowlFiesta Sampler pack then you may have already tried these chews out!

First is goose neck pieces ~ a hypoallergenic alternative for those allergic to duck necks!

Second is duck feet ~ as there's not much flesh on duck feet these have similar texture to dehydrated chews. Duck feet contain glucosamine and chondroitin which can benefit the joints!

Third is quail fledglings ~ larger and more feathered than quail chicks, making them a bit more nutritious. Feathers (roughage) is a great source of fiber that can help keep the gut running smoothly.

"It tastes like chicken!" We tend to want what we can't have and for Sender, that's chicken. On top of that he's not a fan of chews like bully sticks and collagen puffs, so I am always trying to find new chews to work his teeth and jaw. Frog legs are a tasty, low fat chew, rich in omega 3, potassium, and vitamin A, with a similar texture and taste (apparently) to chicken! They are human grade so I may have to cook them up and test them out for myself sometime 😂.
