Whether your long weekend is full of backyard lounging, BBQ smells, garden puttering, or one very dramatic pet supervising from the window, we hope you and your furry, feathered, scaly, or whiskered family members enjoy a safe and happy holiday.

Looking for something fun and different to do with your pet today?

🐾 1. Create a “Royal Sniffari”
Let your dog, cat, rabbit, or curious critter explore a safe area at their own pace. Hide a few treats, sprinkle pet-safe herbs, or set up cardboard boxes and tunnels. No rushing...today they are royalty, and the kingdom must be sniffed thoroughly.

📸 2. Host a Mini Victoria Day Pet Portrait Session
Grab a cute blanket, a few flowers, a Canadian-themed bandana, or their favourite toy and take some adorable holiday photos. Bonus points if your pet looks mildly unimpressed...those are usually the best ones.

A quick holiday reminder: if fireworks are happening nearby, keep pets safely indoors, close windows, turn on calming background noise, and make sure ID tags and microchip information are up to date.

Chocolate and xylitol (in candies/gum) are toxic to pets—keep those baskets out of reach!

A – Allergies can flare in spring
Just like us, pets can react to pollen and grasses this time of year—watch for itching, licking, or watery eyes.

S – Spring = shedding season
Warmer weather means coats are changing—regular brushing helps reduce matting and hairballs (especially in cats).

T – Tulips & toxic plants
Many Easter flowers (like tulips and lilies) can be harmful—lilies are especially dangerous for cats.

E – Extra excitement = extra supervision
Visitors, kids, and busy homes can stress pets—make sure they have a quiet, safe space to retreat.
