Looking for a part-time Kennel Tech/Trainer’s Assistant to join our team as the busy season picks up.

📅 Morning & evening shifts
💵 $15/hr starting pay
🐕 Work directly with dogs in a hands-on, supportive environment

Duties include (but aren’t limited to):
• Cleaning kennels & training areas
• Feeding & watering dogs
• Potty breaks
• Drop-off support
• Assisting with training sessions

Obedience - Level 1 (6 months and up)

Have you dreamed of walking your dog without pulling, jumping and over arousal towards everything in the environment? How about having people over to the house confidently without your dog embarrassing you or being able to unclip that leash and KNOW your dog will recall back?

Our obedience level 1 class is the easiest way to get started building all these foundational skills for a true go anywhere dog 🤩Over 7 lessons we will cover on leash obedience such as loose leash walking heeling, sit, down, and place. We’ll also develop a bomb proof recall so you can let your dog off leash with confidence 🙌🏼

We’ve helped hundreds of dog owners across the city find confidence and reliability in there dogs and this is class is the easiest way to get started on the same path!

Puppy Foundations (under 6 months)

This class will give you everything you and your puppy need get setup for the start of a long and happy life together!

Over 5 classes, we’ll cover crate training, leash walking, proper exposure training, begin basic obedience games and teach you how to motivate your dog with food and structured play 🐶🎾

Important announcement about our board & train program 📢

We’re officially fully booked for the summer and now taking bookings for October 2024! Our first availability for any length board & train is October 3rd.

But don’t worry, we’ve still got availability for private training sessions throughout the summer and into September! Private sessions allow you and your dog to learn all of the skills that we teach in our board & train program (yes, that means off leash reliability!)

When you sign up for private training sessions you also gain access to our client portal, where we have content that covers all of the skills you’ll need as a handler! The best part is you’ll have lifetime access to the portal and we’re always adding new content, so even after you’ve finished your private sessions you’ll be able to go back to the portal and check out what’s new - or if you need a refresher, you’ve got it on the fly ✨

We are hiring! 🥳

It’s been a wild first year at Bark Brigade and we are growing faster than we ever expected. With that, we are looking to bring on a part time kennel tech to help with the day to day needs of the dogs, trainers and training areas.

This position is intended to lead to an opportunity training dogs here, and no experience is required! We are looking for someone with an open mind and strong work ethic that’s just as passionate about helping dogs as we are.

The position is part time with some flexibility of hours at our home based business in SE Calgary.

Meet Doeby, the 10-year-old rescue with a bite history, who conquered his reactivity with Bark Brigade!

Doeby and his owner spent the last 8 years trying to manage his reactivity, often feeling limited in what the two could do together. Even after seeing other trainers and completing their training programs, his owner never felt like she could trust Doeby and that his reactivity was still very problematic. But after completing a private training package with Bark Brigade, Doeby is finally able to enjoy all the freedoms that come with being a reliable dog!

One thing clients tend to get stuck on is levelling up their training and proofing their commands. One of the best ways to do this is using the 3 D’s of dog training!

Duration, Distance, and Distraction.

Each of the D’s are important for their own reason, but when used correctly and together they can help you build a truly reliable dog ✨

If you want to level up your training, try introducing one of the 3 D’s on your next training session 💪🏼 But remember, if you want to succeed, go slow and make sure your dog is mastering each rep before moving on and increasing.
