A successful weekend complete! Congratulations to all handlers as we wrap up our weekend.

Yesterday I posted the results of our IGP trial, and this morning we finished strong with Dani & Yaro achieving ANOTHER IGP-FH title with 98 on the first day, and 92 on the second! Way to go Yaro on your great tracks you tracking machine 👏👏💪 Excited to see what’s next for you ;)

After our IGP trial concluded, we started the FIRST EVER AMERICAN SCHUTZHUND TRIAL IN CANADA! Congratulations to all handlers. A special shoutout to our members for achieving the following AS titles:
Dani & Yaro BT
Dallas & Crosby BT
Connie & Savage BTX

The AS organization is VERY generous and sends a trophy package for each trial. We only had BT’s/BTX’s and a bunch of trophies with the date of our trial for the AS1-3, so we decided to not waste them, and Connie earned High in Protection (53/55) and High in Trial (Obedience/Protection combined).
Dani & Yaro got to snag the “High in Detection” trophy for Yaro showing the best hunt drive in the environmental portion of the BT.

Huge huge thankyou for Joeri Veth for helping us through hosting our first trial and our gazillion questions, and your excellent judging. We loved hearing your thoughtful critiques and breakdowns of the dogs performances, as it’s so refreshing to hear people who really understand dogs and dog behaviour. We hope to see more of your judging in the future!

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us this weekend. We love you all!

Today was a successful day! 3 of our club members achieved some new titles - all a first for them!

Connie & Syn received their very first ever IGP1. 70-83-88. High in Obedience, High in Protection, first place IGP1. Syn has not been an easy dog to train - Connie didn’t know what the trial would look like in tracking in protection. There were days when we talked about the possibility of not trialling, about what the future in the sport looks like for Syn, but Connie NEVER GAVE UP. Connie worked her tail off everyday, and today the hard work paid off. Syn struggled in tracking, but she never quit and made it to the end. This made us all so proud. She really DID IT!!! She put on a very nice obedience routine, knocking over the jump was costly but she was driven, and happy throughout! Protection she came through and surprised us with her best guarding! Connie handled great throughout the routine and they finished strong. Congratulations Connie, your nerves can settle now, you earned it 😂❤️

Congratulations to Chris and Kai for achieving their very first BH! Kai originally started in the club with Christina however due to unforeseen circumstances, Chris had to take over the training. He was unfamiliar with the sport, and the handling, but he worked tirelessly to learn everything he could and continue the training where Christina left off. Today, the fruits of your labor were shown. You should be very proud, as we are of you. Congratulations to Chris and Christina.

Congratulations to Dallas and Crosby for their very first FH3. If you would haveve asked us 4 years ago if Crosby could get an FH3, we’d say “No way.” Infact, our conversations often talked about the struggle for her in the future for the IGP3 track. Dallas went to work and put in the time and miles and Crosby has shown up with impressive performances time and time again. Today, she completed an 1800 pace track that was aged for 3 hours. 8 legs (one a semi-circle), 2 acute turns, 2 cross tracks, 7 articles….. 90 points! We are so impressed and proud of you.

Congratulations to Dani and Yaro with their showing at the 2025 GSSCC National Championship!

Yaro likes to surprise us often and keep us on our toes, and this time he gave us the biggest surprise of all, one we would never expect, and that was his hiccup in tracking that resulted in not passing - losing the track at the corner 😢. Regardless, Yaro made us proud with his improvement in protection from his last years National showing. It was a happy moment to come back to the same judge a year later and say “look! I fixed it!” 😂❤️

Yaro received his V rating in show, as well as received a performance award!

A special congratulations goes to Dallas & Crosby for receiving 11th Place in the Females at the 2025 WUSV Universal World Championship! (96-84-82 and SG12 in show!)
This is a huge accomplishment for these two, and it being their first ever world championship! We were so happy to see you represent TEAM CANADA!

For those who aren’t familiar, the WUSV Universal World Championship is for German Shepherds only, who have to show they are the complete dog in working ability, show, and health.
The dog must do the IGP portion of the trial (tracking, obedience, and protection) and their total score of the trial is added together. Then, the dog must compete in the Sieger show (conformation). The dog receives points based on their rating and placement in the show, as well as their hip and elbow rating. All the points are then added together and the highest total score, wins!

Thank you Sturgeon Schutzhund Club for hosting a great and successful 2025 Prairie Pegional Championship.

A special congratulations goes to our club member Dani and Yaro for being the 2025 Prairie Region IGP3 Champion with High in Protection. Congratulations to Karen and Ralph for their 2nd and 3rd place finish.

We would also like to thank our very own Dominic Scarberry for being chosen for the front half of the IGP3’s, our friend Henry for being chosen for the back half, and our friend Zach for being chosen for the IGP1’s. All three of you did excellent work!

Inferno canine was also presented with the Team Challenge award trophy for the 4th consecutive year! Great work team!
