We are so happy to be back to normal!

My surgeon gave me the OK and assured me that my knee is healing wonderfully. Things are busy at the shop. My helper, Holli, has been a big help. She has worked for me once before and will be ready to accept her own clients very soon so stay tuned! I will be grooming some Fridays to get caught up.

Happy new year everyone!

My knee surgery went really well! Hugs and Wrigley took great care of me 😉
So did my family and friends ❤️❤️❤️

I will slowly be returning to work. Shop hours next week will be as follows;
Mon and Tues: 11-4 (retail sales only, no daycare)
Wed: 7:30-5 Daycare resumes
Thurs: 7:30-5 Grooming resumes

Regular hours and operations resume the following week with the exception of Wed. Jan 15th. I will be closed that day for a follow-up appointment with my surgeon in Banff. I will be working some Fridays to catch up on the workload, but no daycare is offered. As with any recovery, I may have to make some adjustments if needed. I will have help to handle the dogs, so don't be surprised if you hand the leash to someone else. I am very excited to see everyone and I expect there to be some excited dogs. The risk that I need to avoid is an excited dog bumping into my knee. As usual, I will greet all dogs in a calm, quiet manner to encourage the same from them.

Designer Mutts by Laura is hiring! I am looking for an individual who would like to work in the grooming/dog care industry. The ideal candidate is good with dogs, hard working and dependable. I am willing to train the right person for this position so no previous experience is needed. Responsibilities will include checking dogs in and out, bathing and drying dogs, handling retail purchases and cleaning. Please email your resume highlighting any pet care/grooming experience including any sports/training that you participate in with your own personal dog to [email protected]. The position is part-time starting the week of Jan 6th potentially. Days and times are flexible.

Santa's coming! And i know what I'm getting! As many of you know already, I am having knee surgery on Dec 19th. As such, I am closing the shop early this year. Dec 18th will be the last day that I will be open in 2024. I wish I had set plans as to when I will reopen, but it will depend on my recovery. I am hoping to be back to work selling retail the first week of Jan and grooming my small clients mid Jan. I will be hiring an assistant in the new year to help with the daycare dogs as I can't risk any playful pups running into my knee and setting my recovery back but please have a back up plan just in case. I will keep everyone updated as things progress. Thank you so much for your understanding ❤️
