The Book Man has a new kitty in their Cat Adoption Window Program! This is Aurora! Aurora is a Dilute Tortishell and she is about a year old. At such a young age, she became a mama (no fault of hers). Her kittens have all been adopted and now it's her turn to find a forever home.

Ena always taught us the value of saying a proper Thank You to those that support our work. Sending out an absolutely massive thank you to a VERY generous donor who graced us with a very appreciated cheque this week.

We were left speechless at their generosity and kindness!

Thank you for your support! They are a humble person so there will be no mention of their name, but we are VERY grateful. We hope that they enjoy these flowers from Fairfield Flowers as a small token of our appreciation!

Did you know that Ena's Community Cats has their Administrative Offices at The Book Man?

As an official sponsor and partner of ECC, we wanted to share their spay/neuter package with everyone on our page. This program is provided at an augmented cost for those struggling to afford the spay/neuter of their cat(s).

Their program includes the spay/neuter of your kitty, as well as take home pain medications, their first round of vaccinations, flea, worm and mite treatments as well as permanent ID.

Please do your part to control the unwanted cat population in Chilliwack - let's support all of the amazing rescues in our city who work so hard to improve animal welfare.

We are so proud to partner with so many of the rescue agencies in Chilliwack with our cat window, financial contributions and to be coming soon..... a cat food donation program!

The Book Man has two new kitties in their Cat Adoption Window Program!

Alice is a loving 7 yr old spayed, vaccinated & microchipped female. She enjoys cuddles being brushed & played with. A sunny window to relax in is a favorite until she hears you return, then she's at the door awaiting your arrival. Alice would welcome respectful children in her new home and even another kitty.

Mushu is a 4-year-old tattooed & microchipped, vaccinated neutered male who loves nothing more than to meet you at the door upon your arrival home. This fella enjoys the company of everyone young and senior. He also enjoys other respectful cats. At a young age, Mushu was chased by a dog, so it would take time for him to warm up a family dog. Mushu is ready for a second chance at a forever home.

If you're looking to welcome a new furry friend into your family, consider Alice or Mushu! But either way, find them at The Book Man and shower them in snuggles!

But Everyone at The Book Man, especially Dave, their founder, loved this handsome chonk so much, they had to adopt him themselves!

When we lost our beloved Ena Vermerris, we assumed that Ena's Community Cats would come to an end... but you all asked for it to continue!

Our board has been meeting diligently, and our volunteers have been working hard to continue with Ena's low-cost spay/neuter program.

And....

We've hit our first milestone! As of last Wednesday, we have successfully facilitated the spay/neuter of 102 cats with our trusted veterinary partners.

Thank you to our drivers Amber, Adam and Terry. And thank you to Lauren, Stephanie and the staff at The Book Man for successfully facilitating the pickup and drop off of all the kitties!

We think that Ena would be very proud of this milestone, and probably get a good laugh out of the steep learning curve that we have been on.

Thank you to everyone who donated 'a little extra' with their spay/neuter fee. It's never expected, but it certainly goes a long way to helping more underprivileged cats in our community have access to great medical care.

Cheers to this milestone, and looking forward to hitting many more together!
