NEW AVAILABLE FISH LIST

March 18TH Update

We received male giant koi bettas from Thailand last week. The giant bettas are selectively bred taking the largest males and breeding with the largest females, and repeating over and over and over. With time, the selective breeding results in bettas that grow up to 6-7 inches (twice the size of regular bettas). Previously, most giant bettas were two toned. Now, they are available as multi-colour plakats and other developments continue!

💫 The Beautiful Koi Fish 💫

💥What is special about koi fish?

Koi is one of the strongest living creatures in the water, and can swim vigorously even in a cold pond. They are also large and sturdy, which may be why they look so tough compared to other fish. Because of their size and ability to live a long life, they have become a symbol of good luck and health.

💥What do koi fish eat?

In the wild, koi fish eat algae, plants, insects, worms, seeds, and anything they can stir up from the pond's bottom. They hunt along the pond floor and along the surface. If you have an ecosystem pond, they can continue having their natural diet.

💥Do koi fish bond with humans?

All joking aside, Koi fish are known for their great memory, loyalty to their owners, and for their striking personalities.Jun 30, 2017

💥Will koi mate with goldfish?

Both koi and goldfish can be beautiful and they come in a variety of colors. Koi will breed with the goldfish. Some of the baby fish (fry) will be born brown or grey and may turn orange as they get older. These fish will not be pure koi, something that doesn't really matter unless you are really into koi!

💥How can you tell if a koi fish is male or female?

There are two main indicators of s*x in koi. The easiest way to tell is from fin shape and color. Male koi have smaller, more pointed fins that are opaque and generally colorful. Female koi, on the other hand, have larger, rounded fins that are partly or completely translucent or even transparent.

💥Do koi like cold water?

Koi are cold-water fish but thrive in water temperatures between 59-77 degrees Fahrenheit. Because their metabolism reacts to the temperature of the water that they live in, you'll want to be sure your pond has both shallow areas as well as spaces that are deep enough so it does not freeze to the bottom.

The Blue Polar Parrot Cichlid

💥What temperature do they like

The species thrive in temperatures ranging from 73 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit, with pH levels between 6.5-8.0. They also require water hardness levels between 2 to 25 dGH and less than ten ppm nitrate levels. Polar Cichlids are fast-growing.

💥What is the maximum size of a blue polar?

about 8" long
These Polar Blue Parrot Cichlids are thought to be hybrids of Parrot Cichlids and Convict Cichlids. We've heard the original hybrids occurred in Taiwan. But now these fish live in aquariums all over the world. Maximum Size: In aquariums, they can grow to be about 8" long.

💥Are blue parrotfish poisonous?

These brilliant blue and green fish are pretty easy to shoot and make a nice meal, but they are also somewhat dangerous to consume, due to the high prevalence of ciguatera, which is a toxin that comes from eating the algae on the reefs.Dec 1, 2021

💥Which fish can stay with parrot fish?

Blood parrots should not be kept with aggressive fish, as they are not well equipped to compete for food or turf in the aquarium. Owners have kept them successfully in community tanks with a variety of peaceful fish. Mid-sized tetras, danios, gouramis, angelfish, and catfish are all good possible tankmates.

💥Can parrot fish live with other cichlids?

Tankmates for parrot cichlids
Parrot cichlids are commonly mixed with many other cichlids from South American to Africans, but are best with their own kind or other placid, non-territorial species like Severums.

Available 20 each

? WOULD YOU OWN ONE OR A FEW ?

💥 Tylototriton verrucosus8 is a species of newt found in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. Common names include: Himalayan newt, crocodile newt, crocodile salamander, Himalayan salamander, red knobby newt.

💥This newt can reach a length of 20 cm. The tongue is small and is free on the sides and only slightly towards its base. The teeth on the palate are in two oblique rows that meet at the front of the mouth. The skull has a thick, bony fronto-squamosal arch, a feature of all salamanders. They have five toes and the tail is flattened to aid swimming.

💥The head is wide and the snout is short and the head has three prominent bony ridges with pores, one along the center and two along the back of the sides of the heads (the parietal ridge). There are no lobes on the lips. The body is 3 to 3.5 times as long as the head. There is no crest running along the dorsal midrib as in some newts but there is a prominent vertebral ridge with a series of k***s formed from the expansion of the neural processes of the dorsal vertebral bones. There is a series of 15 or 16 knob-like porous glands along the sides with the last three behind the leg. The legs are moderately long with the fingers and toes within webbing but are slightly flattened. The tail is at least as long as the head and body and is flattened to help in swimming. The tail has an upper and lower crest which meet at the tip of the tail. The a**l opening is a longitudinal slit, and its borders are not raised. The skin is rough and the parotoid glands are large. There is a strong fold on the chin. The entire newt is uniformly blackish brown, slightly paler on the lips, snout, chin, throat, and under surface of limbs. The lower edge of the tail is orange-yellow.

💥During the breeding season in May and June these behavioural differences between the s*xes. Courtship and mating occur at night and as in many salamanders involves the male moving around it while bending, pushing and curving it's tail

💥Diet
They feed on spiders, worms, millipedes, scorpions, molluscs and a range of insects.

💥Distribution and Habitat
The species is distributed in the hills and mountains of the Himalayan system in northeastern India (Sikkim and Darjeeling Districts), Bhutan, eastern Nepal, southern China (Yunnan Province), through northern Burma and northern Thailand to northern Vietnam.
