When the clock strikes midnight tonight, I won’t be celebrating. I’ll be looking to the skies and sending my love to the souls who will be needlessly put to sleep because we, as humans, failed them. As the proud Dad of a pitbull mix, my heart goes out to the guardians of these incredible dogs who will lose their best friend or lose the freedom to explore the world with them.
I am so sorry, and you have all my love.

Some highlights from Friday’s group hike! We found four waterfalls, a couple lakes and some wild blueberries to snack on 🫐🤤
I’ve almost got my pups in a row! 😂 They found the brook today, and every single possible mud puddle, but they had fun! 🦆

Willow and I are very glad to be back from our vacation to see all of our friends again! Yesterday, we took a group for a hike and got to swim in the sun, which was a perfect way to ease back into the groove. 🥰
It’s (almost) vacation time!

I’m already excited to take a group of pups out on July 14th, I know I’m going to miss everybody!
Spent the last day before my vacation with 7 pups! They did amazing and even enjoyed some light rain to help keep us cool while we hiked up a mountain. I’m so excited for my vacation but I’m sure going to miss these smiling faces!
Out in the rain with today’s pack! We walked along a river and I had to keep them out because it was flowing so strongly, but they got plenty of swims in the muddy puddles 😅🙃

We went waterfall hunting today! The extra heavy recent rain made the falls beautiful and strong.
*If you know these falls, you know it’s very steep to get to the bottom. Please note that the hiking pups did not venture down, for their safety.
Despite the provincial ban on hiking in the woods, these pups still got out to go exploring! We found a small beach and walked along the coast before coming to a field where they got the zoomies and tore around!
I’m so glad I’m able to still offer the pups some enriching time outside; some of them are definitely feeling the stress of these fires.

Despite this ban, I will still be able to take dogs for group walks in non-woods areas and will be continuing our operations, while staying clear of woods.
Please, don’t burn and take this warning seriously. Don’t flick your ci******es, don’t think you’re above this. Do not burn. There is way too much at risk right now.
Praying for all of those, humans and pets, affected by the fires across the province. I’m happy to say all of our clients are safe but I know so many pets still aren’t. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if anyone needs support.
I made the call on Sunday when I dropped a dog back home from a hike to call their parent to come home and be prepared to evacuate. They came home with lots of time and were evacuated a few hours later. They’re safe, but I’m so glad I made that call. It’s better to be safe than sorry and you should never bargain that a fire won’t change direction in the blink of an eye. Have an evacuation kit made up with lots of food and supplies; it’s so much better to leave early and not need to than leave late.
Stay safe, and hug your furbabies extra tight tonight 🫶

Yesterdays pups enjoyed a 10km hike and we finished up just before it started raining! I call that perfect timing 😂
Todays group photo didn’t really work out but here they are! We did 12.5kms and it was beautiful out for it, with a nice breeze. I even got some extra protein today by swallowing a gnat 😂😅

Kahlua was on a walk with me yesterday when she slipped her long line. She was playing and rolling and the clip came undone, and she took off. She is extremely nervous, so please do NOT approach her or call out to her. Contact Danielle ASAP with what direction Kahlua was traveling in.
I take safety very seriously and knew Kahlua was nervous for her first hike with me, which was why she was on a long line. I’ve never had this happen before, and the clip wasn’t broken but I’m looking into getting locking clips so this never happens again. I’ll be continuing to help the family look for Kahlua in any way I can, and hope she makes it home safely.
HAPPY ENDING: Home; Safe N' Sound. WE thank all that cared and shared. Thrilled that Kahlua is safe! Woofs to the good Samaritan that spotted Kahlua and ensured she would NOT go into the road. We thank Mike and Lisa Anne for assisting and offering direction etc. "she walked the edge of the highway as to not allow Kahlúa to cross. Traffic was heavy and fast Danielle arrived. She was able to use luring techniques and bring her into safety. Happy ending" (5.5.23 - 5.6.23)

Kind but very nervous. Do NOT post location of sightings - report to the owner, do not chase or yell. She is from Fall River. NAME: Kahlua She went missing on May 5/23. Today’s rainy day 7.5km group!
We normally max our hikes at 5 dogs but we had a last minute add in and this group was all the better for it! They loved playing with each other, endless sticks and the rivers and lake we found on our adventure 🐾

Today’s pups right before jumping in the lake! They enjoyed 8kms of woods trail in the beautiful weather. We were very grateful for that light breeze!
*the young pup did not hike the whole way, she was in a backpack for most of the trip but got to play with her buddies during breaks!

Had a great first hike with Border Collie Beaux today! He absolutely loved romping through the woods and can’t wait to meet some new friends on his adventures.

Come on a hike with us! Long Lake Provincial Park is one of my favourite places to take the pups! I grew up going there to swim with my dad and I fall in love with it more every time I go. There’s always a new deer trail to follow, and they all seem to lead to a perfect swimming spot for the dogs and I. We can stick to the well used trails or get “lost” wandering the woods, all depending on what my mental health needs that day. Working on shaping with @rigsbyintheruff this morning. Shaping is when you praise an action that progressively changes until it's what you want. In this video, I want him to pick up the purple toy and bring it to me, so we start by praising for any interest in the toy and "shape" it until he picks it up and brings it to me! This is one of the longest ways to train a dog, but it's also one of my favourites because it makes your dog think, rather than you telling them exactly what you want.
