Meet Breeze.
Breeze came into the care of Northern Critters In Need about 2 months ago. His history is unknown but he had several abrasions and broken ribs on both sides of his chest. The best option for his recovery was to have his chest wrapped to prevent his broken ribs from puncturing his chest cavity and to aid in healing. He was hospitalized and quickly became a clinic favorite.
Initially we started with wrapping his chest with bandaging material, which worked well, it kept his ribs from moving and causing pain. After 5 days he had improved enough to be able to go to his foster home where it made sense to use a compression shirt, so that the foster family could adjust it on their own as he grew. We keep several Medical Pet Shirts in stock but unfortunately we did not have one small enough for Breeze (he was only 12 pounds) and could not find one at our suppliers.
So, we reached out directly to Grey Wolf Animal Health, their sales director Theresa was very helpful she searched their warehouse, and found an XS Top Shirt for Breeze. After hearing Breeze's story Theresa and Grey Wolf wanted to help contribute to Breeze's care by sending us the shirt as a sample free of charge.
We are happy to report that two months later Breeze is doing very well. His wounds and ribs have healed and he had grown so much. He was here at the clinic for a visit and he is still the sweetest dog (still a clinic favorite), he loves to snuggle and you would never know that he had such a rough start. We would like to again thank Grey Wolf Animal Health for their compassion and providing his Medical Pet Shirt.
Breeze is finally available for adoption! If you are interested in adopting Breeze please contact Northern Critters in Need (tagged above).
