Now, we know that this update is a wee bit late, but we were busy getting the pups ready for their forever homes so video editing took a bit of a backseat. Here is the 5-8 week puppy update!

Poor little Boomer (7 weeks) is on medication as he contracted juvenile cellulitis (it only occurs in puppies and the vets are still not sure of the reason, just luck of the draw). As we do daily tactile exercises with our pups, we caught it very early by noticing some swelling on his neck and small bumps forming on his nose/mouth. Got him in to the vet quickly and he is healing so nicely. Great news is that it will not affect him at all later in life.

There is a special place in my heart for Boomer, who had to go through this so young. He is the most docile of the litter and so sweet and snuggly. It has been nearly a week since he has been on his meds and he is doing great and back to playing like his old self.

So thankful we caught it early, as it could have been much worse (just google it if you want your heart to break).

My sweet little Penny (Blossom) and Mojo are heading home to their families today. We are going to miss them so much!

The pups were not impressed when I left the bench to take a photo (don't worry, hubby is close so they don't jump off and hurt themselves). Poor Penny fell asleep on me and I woke her up.

Yes, it is a pile of puppies! They are 6 weeks here and oh so snuggly. As they get older they are really starting to develop their own personalities and Mama, Millie, is teaching them all about doggie manners.

Boomer loves to hide in the strawberry planters and watch everyone play. He is a shy and sweet boy that listens very well. In fact he is very praise motivated and eagerly wants to please (us humans) - he is great at sitting nicely before being fed his meals. Such a gentleman.

Mojo does a great job of being the first one to "go p*e" (or p**p) when they go out for a potty break. No standing around for this little guy, he just gets it done!

Penny (Blossom) has no trouble climbing up those stairs but it took a solid week for her to master going down the stairs. At first she went down them sideways, which was so cute! When it is time to come inside from play in the yard, she is usually one of the first pups to come when we give the whistle (we combine the "come" command with a whistle).

Mojo (6 weeks) is such a sweetheart and very "happy go lucky" kind of pup. He loves to play tug with the rope toys with his sister and brother (and us humans, too). We were practicing the "sit" command on this day and he is doing well and seems to be food motivated.

Penny (Blossom) is such a little day and poses so nicely. She is starting to get full of s***k at 6 weeks and is often the one that initiates the play with her brothers.

Trying to get a shot of the pups all together where everyone's head is up can be hard. Penny was sitting nice with the boy, but started to come to me once i moved my hand away so hubby could take the shot. Well 2/3 isn't too shabby?

Boomer is such a sweet little fella. Here is a 6 week update on this little guy - learning to go up and down the stairs and getting socialized to common items on the garden like lawnmowers and bikes.

Mojo's favorite time is playing outside and brushing through all the tall grasses in the back garden. He was the first puppy to learn how to climb both up and down the stairs. Each week they are learning so many new things!

Boomer is learning so much each day and his favorite time is seeing us (yes, even more than dinner time!) first thing in the morning.

Little Penny (Blossom) has very similar colouring to her mum, Millie and we have noticed some light chocolate colours on her nose and cannot wait to see how she develops when she gets older.

Blossom is a such a sweet girl and has officially be chosen by her new family and will be named "Penny Lane", which we are now starting to call her so she gets familiar with her new call name.

These little pups are growing so much! They are learning to explore their surroundings and we are working with them to build trust in their environment and to expose them to common items they will find in their new homes.

The pups have moved from the whelping box to their puppy play yard. We are introducing 1 novelty toy a day, but have found anything BALL related to be a puppy favorite.

Boomer is such a sweet boy and loves to sleep most of the day still. We are pleased to have captured his eyes open, as he wanted to sleep during the shoot.

It is puppy pile time! The pups still love to snuggle with each other and are often sleeping on top of one another. They are taking a break from the "photo" shoot with the nice warm heating pad under the fur blanket.
