🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 Please consider taking your pup out early in the morning or later in the evening when it’s cooler if they need a stroll. Alternatively, backyard potty breaks, shade snuggles and indoor enrichment activities are ideal when we are in nasty heatwaves. Take care of your pup‘s paws 🐾 💕

🚨 Hot Summers Means Hot Pavement!

Did you know that asphalt and sidewalks can heat up higher than the air temperature? Here's a quick test: hold the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for your dog's paws! 🐾

Tips to Keep Your Dog's Paws Safe:

✅ Walk earlier or later in the day when it's cooler.
✅ Use Paw Protection: Dog booties can protect their pads.
✅ Walk on the grass instead of the pavement.
✅ Check your dog's paws daily for signs of irritation.
✅ Try indoor enrichment games.
✅ Opt for activities in or near water, like swimming or walking along a creek.

Keep those paws safe and happy! 🌅🌿🐶

🐩 🐾 If anyone is considering trying Osteopathy for their dog: Osteopathy has changed our dog Buster's life! He struggles with limping and mobility issues and we saw an immediate improvement after his first appointment. He continues to see Sarah occasionally for 'tune ups' but the difference in his quality of life has been night and day!

We are excited to announce that for this December only, we are doing a special promotion to offer lower cost spay & neuters to everyone. Prices are flat rates with no weight limit for dogs, so our large & extra large dog friends are welcome too.

🎁 Added extra bonus, each surgery will included one free dewormer for internal parasites.

Dogs:
• Spay $350 + tax
• Neuter $300 + tax

Cats:
• Spays $200 + tax
• Neuter $125 + tax

No limit on how many animals per home, & spaces are limited by a first come first serve bases. Promotion only for the month of December 2023. A $50 non refundable deposit is required at time of booking to secure spot that will go towards final bill after surgery. No refunds on deposits for cancelations or no shows. One internal parasite dewormer included for each animal per surgery. Surgical cone & pain meds are extra.

Felix wants to remind everyone to stay cool in this wild heat wave. 🧊 ⛄️ Check out this advice from the :

“Extra precautions need to be taken during hot weather to keep your animals safe. Even a short time in a hot environment can be life-threatening for your pet. Limit the length of time spent outdoors, never leave an animal unattended in a vehicle, and ensure animals always have sufficient water and a cool, sheltered place out of direct sun.

General heat safety tips:
🚗 If you are travelling with your pet and can’t take them inside with you when you leave your car, leave them at home where they are safe.
⛅️ Take dogs on walks in the morning or evening when the temperature is lower and reduce outdoor playtime during the day.
🥵 Test the pavement on sunny days using the back of your hand or wrist. Pavement can get very hot and burn the pads on your dog’s feet.
❄️ If you do not have air conditioning at home, provide a fan to keep your pets cool and comfortable. Close the curtains in your home to keep the temperature lower inside and give animals access to a cool room within your home. Spaces with bare floors are ideal, as they provide a cool place for your pet to lay down.
🎾 Limit the amount of outdoor activity provided to early morning or evening when it is cooler and keep dogs on leash to prevent them from running, leading to overexertion.
