Busy month on the homestead. Gardens are in and doing well. Finally got a few mackerel for the smoker. Soon time to start pickling and preserving some of the harvest.

Busy month on the homestead. Greenhouse done, new cutting gardens in and new strawberry planter made. Veggies are getting planted and new flock of chickens growing fast.

From two boards to an amazing greenhouse! Roof on, front windows done and soon barn style top swing doors. Three floors of plants need their own space, coming soon! From logs to lumber to greenhouse 🐝

Getting started on the greenhouse, silly me I thought that was part of the floor but someone showed me that it was not! I am just doing what I am told but for good reason!!!! MY greenhouse will be up and ready for hardening off all the hundreds/thousands of seeds that are started. 🐝🪴

Been a busy few weeks. Finished some more baby sleds, steam bent some more toboggans and hoops for the barrel planters. Jigs and steam box put away for the year and on to gardening season.
Lots of logs brought home and waiting to get the mill fired up. Need to mill the beams for our outdoor kitchen project.
Finally getting some sap to boil. We have done 3 boils so far and hopefully a couple more this week.
Queen bee has been busy with all that good stuff plus making soap, planting and cutting out new spring decorations for the we shed.

Learning to use Papas new homemade tool that works amazing. Then into the woods but probably too over dressed for today but we have 2 main lines run and many taps just ready to be set into the trees when the weather is right. Need another 1000ft of tubing for all the new maples we uncovered. Great day to be in the woods🐝🍁

Aloe gel removed and in the freezer for one of our favourite Aloe soaps. And a little pic of some previous soaps made and curing, also our homegrown Luffas. This afternoon if it ever warms up a walk in the woods to get the tubing ready for tapping the maple trees.🐝🍁

Showing off the brand new sleds and they are awesome! Even the bigger kids tried them out! Small ones and family size. Now for a little snack. Lobster and steak that we cut and wrapped in the fall, worth the work! Oh and spinach dip on the BBQ! Gotta love snowdays, family and planning for spring. Planning the outdoor kitchen so we can get more preserves on the go for snowy days just like this. 🐝
