Good Morning Everyone!

Anyone who knows me, knows I love Dachshunds!

So myself and 5 other passionate doxie lovers have started a new rescue!

We're all veterans in the rescue world and come with a lot of experience and knowledge with the breed and we look forward to helping dachshunds in need, get the life they deserve.

I would love your support! We're looking for volunteers and fosters! Even a like and a share would help sooo much!

Say Hello Biggie!

This adorable dude needed a slow introduction, he wasn't so impressed with me when we first met!

Dogs he was fine he just takes a little longer than other dogs, to gain trust with other humans. After a few visits with his momma, bit by bit Biggie accepted me. Today, mom actually left him here for a bit. We were both very happy with how well he handled himself in her absence!

Some dogs take a little time to warm up to people, the best thing to do is work on their schedule. We made every visit a positive one and Biggie would leave while having a good time and a good memory. It won't be long before Biggie finds his favorite spot on the couch. Yeah Biggie!!

Aside from a few things on the paperwork end, we are back up and running!

It's been a long 4 years since we temporarily closed until we got settled in Windsor. Then came 2020 and well, I'm finally back with the doggies!

We're already full for July and most of June, with a few spots still available in August.

Our fence is almost complete! Just the gates left to install and then making a small retaining barrier to prevent all the pea gravel from escaping. :)

If all goes as planned 🤞 We'll be reopening after the the Victoria Day weekend.

Good morning!

Just a little update on our progress.

We are a little behind with the fencing but the good news is, they are getting it started today!

We should be up and running by the end of the month.

Hi everyone!

So we had a trial run of boarders, this past week. We don't have a fenced yard just yet, so for the most part, these are all dogs I've known for a good while and I know their personalities and behaviors well.

It was a decent week and we learned a few things.

1 - If you have a dog that chases or obsesses over fast move things, like cats, our place is not a good match. I have one cat that stays scarce, the other one is very active around the dogs.

2 - The maximum I'll be taking for boarding at any time, is 4 dogs. With my two dogs and two cats, that's pretty much all our space can handle before we start tripping over each other.

3 - Because of #2 - I'm already half booked for the month of July and August. If you require boarding for those months. Please get requests in soon.

Luckily, our neighbor will be helping with fence installation, I'll be speaking with him this week concerning timeline. At this rate, we're still aiming for May 1st, official opening with the fence finished.

I can offer boarding between now and then, it'll be with leashed walks as we don't have a fenced yard just yet.

And lastly. I prefer text or email for communication. I can't always answer the phone when with a bunch of dogs and if I receive in written form, I'm more likely to remember it and get it in my planner!

Happy Sunny Sunday Everyone!

We are home! Finally getting settled in. Our dogs are loving it. The cats, well are they ever really happy?🤷🏼‍♀️ 😆

So the last step to reopening Mutt Lovers is the fencing. We plan to have fencing up by early spring. Once the ground is a little easier to get some posts dug, we'll get on it, ASAP

I am taking boarding requests at this time. To be safe, we're aiming for May 1st to be fully operational!

Happy Snow Day Everyone!

We'll, we were supposed to move into our new home today but Mother nature had other plans.

We're hoping to get settled over the next couple of weeks and plan to reopen in March! Just in time for March break. :)

Not sure how quickly we can get a fence up considering the weather but it's a first priority once the weather allows.
