Meet "Dublin" a 2.5 year old Soft-coated Wheaton Terrier, who is our final Board & Train introduction for September. Despite previous training at another facility, her behaviour continues to be a major source of stress in her mom's life. For example, she loves to couter surf and will steal anything she can reach (especially eye glasses🙈), run away and eat it. She will bark and jump excessively when people arrive, pulls on the leash during walks and she will absolutely give you a big 🖕🖕then take off if she gets the opportunity to be off a leash. Over the next 6 weeks we'll be teaching Dublin (and mom!) about the skills and tools to succeed back at home.

Our final introduction of the day, Welcome the super adorable beagle, "Nova" to our Board & Train program. Nova is here to learn a reliable recall, how to walk on a loose leash, obedience and improved manners when people arrive at the house.

River, Maple & Eddie are on the final stretch of their stay with us!

During their training, they have all learned to come when called, how to walk on a loose leash, to wait/stay, not to jump up, to stay in their "place" until released, along with learning to stop barking when asked, and more!

We've had a fine looking group of dogs enrolled over the last couple weeks!
From aggression to basic obedience and everything in between, we'll be helping these families in various ways. Improving not only their lives, but their dogs life as well 🙂

Welcome "Valor" a beautiful Cane Corso puppy to Board & Train! She's here for 2 weeks of puppy training and socialization, then she will come back for our Off Leash Board & Train once she's had time to mature. Mom was proactive and had things lined up for training right out of the gate, as all new puppy owners should 👏 but especially for these large, powerful breeds. Wish her luck! 🙂

We welcomed a fresh group of dogs into our Off Leash Board & Train program this week! Allow me to introduce the crew...

"Eddie" a 7-8 year old rescue Pomeranian with a host of behaviours causing havoc back at home such as excessive barking, not coming when called, pulling on the leash and reactive, sometimes aggressive looking behaviour towards people and dogs.

Next up is "River," a 1 year old Golden Retriever who shares a home with Eddie. River is a typical happy go lucky Golden but has been learning some bad habits from her brother. Reported issues back at home include "barking her head off," pulling like a freight train on leash, jumping up on people, and not coming when called.

Finally, we have Miss "Maple," an 8 month old Golden Retriever whose biggest challenges have been unreliable recall, pulling on the leash, jumping, chewing and counter surfing. Maple has a wee bit of a head start as her owner began Private Training but upgraded to Board & Train after life threw too much on her plate.

It's going to be a fun, rewarding and busy 6 weeks of learning for these dogs and their owners!

"GUNNER" the English Mastiff is wrapping up his Board & Train stay which includes road trips into town to practise our training in the real world. Last night we hit up the Samson Trail and he was a total rockstar 🙌

Wagon Rides Anyone? 😆

Board & Train student, Coors, demonstrating that "place" is portable and can become any object in your environment large and sturdy enough to support your dog!

"Place" is a great way to increase your dogs confidence, develop impluse control, increase the trust our dog has in us, and it can also be useful to help keep our dogs out of trouble 😈🙂

Meet "Toby" a 1.5 year old boxer who has been displaying reactive, aggressive behaviour toward strangers. Today was their first session in our Private, Off Leash Training Program and we saw very encouraging results - Toby quickly made a new friend with his trainer, Jeremy! We're really looking forward to seeing their transformation in the weeks ahead 🙂

Today we welcomed "Diesel" to our Private Off Leash Program!

Diesel is a 1 year old Rottweiler who pulls on the leash and is very reactive to other dogs while walking. Despite being friendly, he doesnt appear that way. He has low confidence in new situations and loves digging up the yard.

In the coming weeks, we look forward to seeing Diesel become the best version of himself 🙂

We welcomed "Coors" into the Board & Train program this week. A 2 year old German Shepherd/Rottweiler/Lab mix. Don't let those big, beautiful, brown eyes fool you... This handsome fella has a bad case of "stranger danger" and those chompers have gotten him into big trouble.
Over the next several weeks we'll be working to build his trust in people, reduce his anxiety during introductions, muzzle training and create reliable obedience while on and off leash, to make life easier to navigate

Today brought us two new Board & Train students!

Welcome beautiful "Luna" a 1.5 year old German Shepherd who is reactive to dogs & people, pulls while walking on the leash, jumps up on people and is unreliable to come back while off leash.

Also welcome this handsome dude named "Stevie" a 7 month old Standard Poodle who has no major issues but requires obedience training while on and off leash and some confidence building. Stevie's big sister completed our Board & Train program last year so we look forward to working them together soon!
