If you know Rhonda, you know she loves genetics and the science side of things. As a conscientious breeder, our goal is to select healthy breeding dogs with even-tempered dispositions. To achieve this, we use genetic testing to help manage our breeding program, from improving genetic health and diversity to screening for disease mutations, understanding and predicting coat traits, and more.

Here’s how to play:

• Move away from your puppy. It helps to get them distracted on something else.
• As your puppy approaches, hold out a target hand for them.
• Use "touch" if your puppy knows it.
• Encourage them to sit then reward.
• Move the target to keep things exciting. How many different positions can you be in and still have your puppy successfully touch the target? (Sitting, right hand, left hand, kneeling, on a couch, standing on one leg? Be creative!
• Repeat as many times as you can in 60 seconds. You get one point for every successful touch and sit from a different position.

Miss Daisy Duke is a beautiful, friendly, happy companion. Standing 19" tall and 29 lbs, Daisy has a wavy red coat that is as non-shedding as a doodle can be.
Beauregard “Bo” Duke Blackmore may share the same last name as Daisy, but they are in no way related.

Their puppies will be medium to small standard sized, standing 18-23" tall and weighing 28-45 lbs. Bo’s lovely parti coat, is as non-shedding as a doodle can be, and will introduce the parti-gene to our breeding program.

These are natural dog behaviors – remember, this is a canine and not a human. In the
beginning, you must plan on managing your puppy’s behaviors by watching them 100% of the time, keeping them on a leash by your side, or putting them in a crate with a safe chew toy. Mix it up throughout the day and include plenty of time and attention in between to build a bond and prepare them for training. If you do not, they will entertain themselves in ways you may not like, including the destruction of your things.

A well-rested puppy is getting around 16 to 18 hours of sleep per day. Taking into consideration their nighttime hours of sleep, which is probably (and hopefully!) an average of 8 hours, that leaves a lot of time for napping throughout the day. When your puppy gets the ‘zoomies’, it may be time for a well deserved rest. Establish a safe quiet area for your pup from the start. We like to use exercise fencing set up as a playpen in the middle of our home. He can still be present but has the ability to better manage his emotions.

Similar to the common household game of hot and cold, “YES!” and “NO!” as well as “OK”, will become the foundational words you use to guide your canine companion down the path of better animal ownership. In keeping it simple, and to help you get started, remember the following about these words:

1. “YES!” is your verbal communication when your puppy does something right and a reward is
coming.
2. “OK” said optimistically is your verbal release to your puppy that he has successfully finished
the behavior.
3. “NO” or “NOPE” is your verbal communication when your puppy does something wrong – try
again.

The Place Command is a magical cue that can be used in a number of situations. This is a great behavior to teach in your home if you do not want your dog rushing the door each time visitors arrive.
