The Boy and his 4-H video!
Gotta love spring.
We weaned this group of lambs this weekend- we bedded the big back shelter and got them ready to hunker down into their first storm sans mothers.... the roof blew off (in all fairness it was a just a well strapped tarp).... so today it is survival of the fittest with a side of grit.

Jessa and Jinger Digger are as yappy as ever!! They are pretty happy pigs and love to chatter when we go back for a visit!! Fun fact: 🐷 Pigs 🐷 have 4️⃣toes on each foot but only walk on 2️⃣of them.... so I guess you could say they👠tip-toe👠everywhere....#pigsofinstagram #pigs #swine #farm #rurallife #farmtotable #growwhatyoueat #whereyourfoodcomesfrom #soab #southernalberta #homestead #barnyard
This is why the chicken coop should of been enclosed..... bright and early and right under my window...

Today is weaning day for some of our lambs and kids. It is a sad and very noisy day {and night}...
This weekend the black ram lamb finds his new home and Monday all the goat kids leave us.
We are all starting to get onto the bottle feeding routine around here! Especially white face!
Today was a long day. It started yesterday night at 10 when I came home to Lily in labor. She wasn't in hard labor but she had been acting off for three days. Long story short- 330pm I was in my neighbours truck on our way to my friendly neighbourhood vet. I should of weighed the lamb because it was double the size of an average lamb. It didn't make it but {silverlining} the ewe is alive.
After I showered I went out to check out all the other babies. I am thankful it's spring. I am thankful for neighbours who drop everything to help a girl out. I am thankful that this experience isn't the norm. I am really thankful for running warm water to wash away the blood, sweat, s#%*, and sheep smell.
❤️️
2 more lambs... rams.
Will be a long night
no milk= 🍼 = 😴
Not feelin' so comfortable tonight....
These two are loving the warm days!
We've had a long haul with this guy last night and still quite a ways to go. This is the closest these two have been without me holding her. It didn't look like he was going to pull through but he made an uphill turn around 8am this morning and now we get to see some of his goofy personality.
