We invite you to come for a horsemanship demonstration ☆October 11th☆ at the Wild Horses of Alberta Society facility(WHOAS).
This demo will concentrate on the first interaction with wild horses and the horsemanship skills needed to work safely with all equines.
This event is open to all equine owners, including those who currently have or are interested owning a wildie.
Administration is a minimum donation of $25 to the WHOAS facility.

Some days are long.
Really long.
Horse training sounds like a dream career, and for Carlo, it is.
However, it isn't all amazing views from the back of an equine. The world paints it as a stunning backdrop of mountains and show ribbons.
It's not....it can be, but never without a TON of work behind the scenes.

And for sure not without sacrifice.
Missed holidays, late suppers, even later bedtimes, endless hours on your feet...

For better or for worse (often for better)
He loves it. And I mean LOVES it!

The first day of a three day clinic is done.
All students had huge breakthroughs.
The clinician is now the trainer again; working through his client horses. Always grabbing another chance to learn from these majestic four-legged creatures we all love.

So, another late night but so worth the chance to handle another horse 🐎 💟

So many changes and long awaited events seem to happen in spring.
New life shows itself in the first buds on trees, the return of geese, swans, and ducks to the dugouts, and my personal favorite, the eruption of color and promise from flowers!
Whether wild in a field or planned out in a flower bed, the vibrance and variety each flower brings to the world around it creates a nearly heavenly appearance.
Then you look up, realize you still have to tackle mud or the occasional snow flurry through these early months of spring and sigh a little prayer your patience will hold out till it truly IS summer.

Spring also brings the birth of new beginnings. Calving and foaling brings sleepless nights but joyous days as you watch them learn the world around them.

Our new beginning this season is the official start of our marriage.
All the crazy and cool things we have journeyed through together so far and all the wild and wonderful adventures that await us.
We are a team.
And although it's a pedal to the metal, dust in your eyes and teeth kind of fast paced, we wouldnt change it for the world!...
But THANK GOD we are about to do it all together!!😉

God has blessed me with a gorgeous lady that has become my best friend. I am so thankful for that!!

We all have the journey of life. It is wonderful!
In it, if our vehicle needs repair we contact a mechanic. If our horse gets stiff, sticky, or scared we call a horse trainer or book in for some education.
In our personal life we have lows and highs, we get confused and we get inspired. God says in his word that if we follow Him he will never leave nor forsake us. He even says He will give us wisdom if we ask for it! He is open to being contacted and interested in being connected with us!

One man's trash, is another man's treasure.🧼🌟
This bit was found in a little antique/thrift store in a tiny little Alberta town; barely paid a thing for it too.
To most people, it may look like a rusty, old, 'harsh' bit that some long forgotten cowboy used as a daily tool in his craft. It's possible it ended up in that little store because his family tossed it aside once the cowboy died. And there it sat. Collecting dust from sitting instead of dust from being used on the prairies. The worth of the treasure unknown and waiting for someone to come along and make it new again.

Is this what we do in life?
Do we throw a once usable piece of equipment or tack, whatever it may be, to the side because we don't know its full worth? Cuz it's old?
Do we know the value of someone's long awaited dream to ride straight up in a spade and the progressions that are a right of passage to achieve that goal?
Does it seem gone with the wind and lost with the old times?
Is it part of our continued heritage as cowboys to rub the dust, dirt, rust, and grim from found treasures, such as these, and give it another turn at life?
Is this how we keep the original cowboy hertiage alive?

You tell me.

I'll just be here, polishing my tack; hoping it doesn't end up in a store, under some other antique treasures, dreaming of it's days of glinting in the sun.
